Chapter 13: The Wave

After enduring Lyon's series of attacks, Gray was down on the ground.

(Flashback)

A young Gray was down on the ground.

???: What's the matter? That all you got? Wake up, Gray!

(Flashback ends)

Raiga: Gray, wake up!

Natsu: Wake up, Gray! How lame... You got butt-whupped good.

Raiga: We leave you alone with that guy for one moment and this happens?

Natsu and Raiga were standing next to Gray, with Natsu's body still trapped in ice.

Gray: Natsu...Raiga... Why are you two here?

Natsu: We didn't one which direction the village was, so we climbed back up to a high spot.

Raiga grabs Gray by the neck of his shirt.

Raiga: Over there! We can't waste anymore time.

Gray: Wait! I can walk... Where's Lyon?

Natsu: Dunno. No one's here.

Raiga: And the ceremony's over too.

Gray tries to get up, but he's too tired, so Natsu starts carrying him. But because Natsu has a hard time running, Raiga has to carry them both.

Natsu: Crap! If Lucy's in trouble is our fault.

Raiga: You're right, let's move on.

Then, Gray remembers something.

(Flashback)

Ul: Stop! You'll never be able to defeat something like Deliora. It's impossible for you, Gray!

(Flashback)

Natsu: I'm gonna do an S-class quest!

Gray: They're called S-Class for a reason! 'Cause they're outta your league!

(Flashback ends)

Gray: Natsu...

Natsu: Huh?

Gray: I have no right to say anything to you. No right at all!

Tears suddenly start falling from Gray's eyes.  Natsu got angry.

Natsu: YOU GONNA SIT THERE MOPIN' ALL DAY 'CAUSE YOU LOST, GRAY!? WE'RE FAIRY TAIL, DAMN IT!!!

Raiga: What he's trying to say is, you gotta be like Brain Cancer. No matter how many times you're defeated, you must keep coming back.

Gray: W-Why did you choose cancer as an analogy?

Raiga ignores the question and starts running.

Raiga: Goddammit! It's really hard to run around carrying two people.

Natsu: Just keep going!!

(Meanwhile)

Lucy and Happy made their way to the village and explained the situation to the villagers.

Lucy: So there you have it. The people who are coming to attack are to blame for doing this to your bodies.

Villager 1: They're coming here?

Lucy: Yes. But on the bright side, this is your chance to capture them!

The villagers started murmuring to each other.

Villager 2: Can we really pull that off?

Villager 3: Will it work?

Villager 4: Seriously?
