MEETING HIM

Part 05

"I asked you something. What is he to you?" He forcibly angled my chin up so that I have no escape to look away like last time.
I can feel his breath over my face. He was breathing normal. While mine was a little more rapid than normal, obvious to the fact that he was occupying more and more my personal space.

Owner of the hospital or not. Who does he think he is to order me around and ask personal questions? 
 
"Why do you want to know?" I asked, controlling my wildly racing heart.

I pushed him in order to get free, but instead he tightened his hold.
"Answer me" he demanded.
"He's just a friend."
"But your closeness to him indicated something more.." he said in a stoned tone.

"He is like a brother to me. And if you're thinking anything else, then let me remind you what I said yesterday that no, he ain't my boyfriend. Infact, I don't have any boyfriend."
I was a little frustrated.

A minute almost passed and he was looking at me intently in my eyes. 

He clearly doesn't have any problem with the closeness that we're in, but I have.
So, I pushed him. And finally he let go of me.

Now what?!
Silent awkwardness surrounded us. 
I decided on taking my leave before he asks anything or does anything crazy.

I wanted to get away from him. Because he seriously is a threat to my normal heart and sane mind which starts getting out of control once he's near me.
But seems like universe today wasn't in my favour.

"So what're your plans for today?" He asked suddenly.
"Nothing much other than eating, studying and sleeping." I blurted out honestly not knowing the consequences later on.
"Then you're coming with me." He announced which got my eyes widened.

"Huh. What?!...Where?!" I asked totally confused.
"To lunch." 

"No...umm.. I'm not hungry." I denied. Truth is I'm really alot hungry. Infact I skipped my breakfast today. 
But I wanted to be away from him for my sanity.

"It's almost 1 in the noon. So of course you'll be hungry."
"But you're the head of the hospital. And I'm the Resident Doctor in it. I don't think that's appropriate." 

"Oh! Don't give me that crap. It changes nothing. Besides, I didn't asked you. So you haven't gotten any choice."
He reached the door and held it open. 
"Come" he ordered 

I waited for few seconds and he challenged through his eyes to defy him.
 
Atlast, not having the choice I went for it.

The lunch was full of laughter as Aman and his wife, Anita  had also joined us at the hotel. It was just the four of us in the whole dining area. 
The perks of being the owner of the hotel!

I learned that Aman and Anita have 2 childrens. Anita worked in the same office as his as the Designer head and Aman being the Head of the Delhi Branch of AR.
Arnav worked at the headquarters of AR which are located in Chandigarh.

They all 3 shared the close bond. Aman and Anita were the lively person of the trio while Arnav was the little distant and serious natured person. He occasionally talked, but only in a few words. 

"So, you're coming okay?" Anita's voice snapped me out from my thoughts.
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. What were you saying?"

"Our 5th anniversary is 17 days away and we're throwing a party so you're coming okay." Said Anita cheerfully!
"Umm.. but " 

" no excuses Khushi. It's at the weekend so you can manage. Also you still have to meet the kids. I'm sure that they are going to love you" she said enthusiastically.

"Ok, I'll try to come."
I didn't have a heart to deny such a lovely proposal.
