You really are sick in the head! To think that you would actually believe that she would settle for someone like you, it's actually hilarious!

Staring wide-eyed at the paper placed within his grasp, his grip on it tightened, causing it to crinkle under his touch. With him now balling it into a smaller size, the now dense ball was thrown into the garbage as he frustratedly stomped towards his room, flopping onto his bed.

He knew he should not have let this get to him but he could not stop himself from doing so. He tried his best to get the guilt he felt away from him. It was strange that he felt this way to begin with as it was not him that was doing something to others but on the contrary.

Guilt is the emotion that is most felt when regretting one's action, however, Tendou should not have felt guilty after reading the note as he had not made any actions worth regretting. The contents of the note discussed how he was undeserving of (Y/n) and how he would never get the chance to call her his beloved. To some extent he had actually believed what it had said as it was not entirely wrong. The message spoke some truth and he knew it. There was to be no chance he could ever end up with someone as gracious as (Y/n) as royalty could never fall for a peasant, or so Tendou believed.

With the boy now sulking at the fact that he had actually sided with what the writer inscribed on the slip of paper, Tendou was submerged in deep thought. He would have liked to believe he was wrong and that he was just acting out of self-pity as even with the way he looked and acted, (Y/n) still cared about him to some extent. He was torn between the two and which one to believe as both were true. Tendou knew full-well that he was not the most attractive boy and that he had never possessed an alluring personality but if the subject was to captivate (Y/n), he could also say that he some-what succeeded in doing so. (Y/n)'s feelings towards the red-haired boy were that she cared deeply for him and did not care about his minor quirks as she deemed them to be cute. With this being known, Tendou could not let himself believe that he did not have a chance with her.

As he now proudly stood up, he slapped his cheeks and pumped his fist into the air. He could not let himself feel down, much less stop believing in himself. From here onwards, he would try his best to ignore the bullying as much as he could and only think about the positive.

With him now feeling fierce, he walked out of his bedroom and heard his phone buzz. As he walked to pick it up, he realized (Y/n) had texted him, asking if he was still awake. Answering back, he replied with a "yes" and a cute face next to it. With a few seconds passing and him not getting an answer in return, he placed his phone onto a small table before having it ring a minute later.

"Hello?" he asked, picking up the phone and answering it.

"Hi!" (Y/n) replied cheerfully.

Wondering the reason as to why the girl had called him so late at night, he raised an eyebrow before posing another question.

"I enjoy hearing from you and all, but why'd you call?" he inquired, trying his best to not sound as though he was angry at (Y/n)'s actions because he honestly was not.

"Oh, umm... About that, I guess I just can't sleep, ha, ha," (Y/n) answered nervously, unknowing of the way Tendou would react to her response.

"Ah, that's fine. I'd rather listen to you than sleep anyways~" he answered back, fabricating an amusing remark as he did so.

Laughing, (Y/n) tried to conceal her giggling by covering her mouth and moving the phone away from her face but to no avail as Tendou had already heard it.

"Your laugh is cute, (Y/n)-chan," he said, turning back to go to his bedroom and deciding he would take a shower in the morning as he would much rather want to spend his time talking with (Y/n).

As Tendou put his pyjamas on, he put the girl on speakerphone, allowing her voice to flow within the air of his room. With him now laying on his bed, he placed the phone beside his head and continued talking to (Y/n).

"What'cha doin'?" he asked, initiating conversation.

"I'm just laying in bed. What about you?"

"Same~"

"I guess I just wanted to fall asleep to your voice. I mean, remember the first time you came over to my apartment? Me knowing that you were there kind of helped me relax more. Even without the fact that I had lost a lot of energy after crying so much, I do believe this could help," (Y/n) admitted.

She does think about me, Tendou though, blushing as he smiled to himself.

"I can help you with that, (Y/n)-chan, I don't mind at all," Tendou spoke honestly.

"Thank you so much!" (Y/n) said, thanking the boy for helping her.

"Ha, ha, no problem," Tendou replied. "Wait, so like, how do I help? Am I supposed to just talk to you or...?"

"Oh! I'd rather you not talk. I mean, I love your voice, as I mentioned before, but I don't want you to stay up long so could you just... let me know you're there by positioning your phone closer towards your face? I- Wait- That's so strange, never mind-"

"Hey, don't worry about it. I can do that if you want," Tendou said, reassuring her.

"I can't thank you enough," (Y/n) comically cried into the microphone of the headset she wore.

With the two now calmly listening to each other's breath, they soon drifted to sleep. As they now swam within their unconsciousness, Tendou could not help but think of the person on the other side of the phone.

Sweet dream, (Y/n)-chan.
