With (Y/n) now absent from the table, Tendou wondered what had been taking her so long. With the way she had acted when she left, he knew something had been off so it would have most likely been that she was in fact not at the washroom but off doing something entirely different. Excusing himself from the table, he went in search of the girl.
As he aimlessly wandered through the hallways of the school, he made sure to go straight towards the girl's washroom before assuming that (Y/n) had been anywhere but there. When he reached the room, as one of the girls was about to enter, he had asked her if she would be able to check if a girl with (h/c) hair was inside. Going in to check, she came back shaking her head, telling Tendou that no one was even in the washroom at the time. Thanking the girl, he left to check someplace else.
Finding the door Tendou's next class, he pondered as to why the door was closed. The classroom doors would normally be left open to allow teachers to know that there were no students hanging around when they were not supposed to. With Tendou now confused, he heard a commotion in the room. It was (Y/n) mumbling something underneath her breath. Accompanying her whispers, Tendou could hear something rubbing against a rough object.
What had it been that had made her sound so stressed? was all Tendou could think as he turned the knob of the door.
Walking in, Tendou stared wide-eyed at the girl.
"What are you doing?"
Averting her gaze to match the one of the red-haired boy, (Y/n)'s breath hitched. She had not expected or heard Tendou entering the room as she was too fixated with what she was doing. In both of her hands sat (Y/n)'s blazer, wet from the water and sanitizer she had put on it, attempting to wash away the profanities written all over Tendou's desk.
When (Y/n) had entered the room, she had found an unfathomable amount of foul and repulsive words addressed in Tendou's name partnered with rows of sentences telling him how disgusting he was for having "stalked" her. When (Y/n) had viewed the sight, she anxiously got to work and began trying her best to get rid of the writing as it had been done in marker ink.
With her hands now firmly grasping onto the fabric of her blazer, the ink of the marker began seeping through it, causing her hands to become stained with the black substance. Trying her best to explain the situation, she raised both of her arms in the air, as if she had been caught red-handed.
"I can explain!" was all she could get out before having Tendou walk over to her, his usual demeanour gone. It had now been replaced with a rather sad expression.
"Alright, please do," his words slip out almost immediately, wanting to know the answer as soon as possible so that he could get a grip on what (Y/n) had been doing.
Taking in a deep breath, (Y/n) calmed herself, not wanting it to seem as though she was trying to hide something with how frantic she was being. With her breath now steadied, she placed a hand to her chest, feeling her exhilarated heartbeat.
"Your recent actions have been rather odd to me; you haven't been like your usual self. I was concerned for what had been happening to you, so I took it upon myself to help you as you had helped me," (Y/n) said, afraid to make eye contact with Tendou in fear of how he would react. "With that being said, I had taken notice of the things that had made you feel this way and concluded that it had been under the influence of others. I thought that by coming here I'd be able to find the person or persons making you feel this way but I was greeted with this instead," she said, gesturing towards the boy's desk.
Without a vocal response from Tendou, all he had done was tilt his head down, preventing (Y/n) from seeing his face as he clenched his fists. To (Y/n) it had seemed as though Tendou had been angry at her for interfering with something that she had no business dealing with, however, when she saw a single tear fall onto the floor, she rushed over to the boy, wiping her stained hands on her skirt before gently caressing his shoulder.
"I didn't mean to make you cry, honestly, I didn't expect this from you," (Y/n) whispered, trying to hush her voice so that it did not upset the boy.
"Why? W-why did you do that?" Tendou's voice wavered, unable to control the multitude of tears from sliding down his cheeks and falling onto the cold classroom floor.
With a happy tone trying to cheer the boy up, (Y/n) tilted Tendou's chin so that he was able to look her in the eyes.
"Because I care, silly," she laughed with a voice sweet like honey.
Having heard that, Tendou cried harder before holding her in a tight embrace. Had it not been for him closing the door after he had entered, a numerous amount of people would have heard the sobs the boy omitted.
Picking the girl up, he placed her on a desk as he buried his face into the crook of her neck as his arms wrapped around her waist. He had been so happy that there was someone, just one person there for him, someone who had truly cared enough to pick up his slight change in behaviour and actually done something about it. This was enough proof for him to believe what all of what the bullies said about how (Y/n) never cared for him was false. From this sole act of kindness, it had proved to him that she would go out of her way to make it so that he did not bear witness to the disgusting bullying they had put him through and try to put an end to it.
Sniffling, he leaned back, taking in her features. As he softly brushed part of her hair out of her face so that he could get a better look at it, he let sincere words slip from his lips.
"See? This is why I love you."
