Moments like this make me ponder over why I agreed to marry in the first place. Don't understand what I am saying? Well, let me tell you, the moment I said 'yes' our families started planning the wedding super grandly one which I didn't want.
Sure our parents want their kids to get married in a very grand way but it isn't something my heart desires. I want a simple close-knit wedding with my dear ones near to me. And when I expressed this with Mamma she was furious and was about to give me a lecture but Papa intervened and made her understand my point. Soon even Akshara Ma (as she wanted me to call her) understood too and Advaith apparently liked my idea of a simple wedding and now here we are getting married the way I wanted. Except, my mother did not let me live down with my life choices. She made sure she tired me out with an uncountable number of rituals.
Our wedding rituals started with the roka. We decided not to have a big engagement so during the roka ceremony itself we exchanged our rings in an intimate affair. The rings were something we selected for each other. I was asked to select a ring for him and he was asked to select one for me. And surprisingly we selected rings with a similar contrast with each other. We did get a lot of teasing for it but I adore the ring he selected for me!

Everything is going so fast that I just want to slow down and take a breather.
Also, did I mention that his friend Sohail Bhansali and my friend Ayesha have some kind of history which neither I nor Zeesh knows of? On the day of our roka my friends formally introduced themselves to Advaith and he introduced his friend to us where these two people were glaring at each other mostly Ayesh was giving the glare but Sohail was looking at Ayesh with so much adoration. And when I asked Ayesh about these looks she shrugged me off saying he is just an unknown unwanted person and to not ask her anything about it. Ayesh is very sweet but if she got hurt by you it takes a lot of time to win her back. I tried to talk to her but she said she needs space and she will herself tell what happened when she is ready so I didn't ask her again and instead started trying to cheer her up. Even if she masks her expressions with a smile seeing Sohail affected her a lot.
