👾

The school bell chimed and the sea of students moved in a flow of traffic as they made their way to their classes. Taller kids helping out their shorter friends and some stray kids being the unfortunate ones to be stuck swimming up-stream.

Matsuomoto kept close to me so neither of us would get separated from eachother on our way to class.

Sure, we received a couple smirks from girls who just had to know I was in a relationship.  but funnily enough, they never bothered me when Kozume and I were dating...I kinda miss it being that way.

We were able to file in a few minutes before the tardy bell rang and the teacher walked in. The old lady set the textbooks down on her desk and stood infront of the class. She clapped her hands to get the few kids who weren't paying attention to look up to her. We all stood up and bowed "Good morning, Sensei" the class chimed to which she reciprocated a bow and a "good morning, everyone"

She turned to the blackboard behind her and promptly picked up a piece of chalk and started to scribble down the first phrase we'd be analyzing that day.

Half way through her lesson I felt a kick to the back of my seat. Turning around just enough to be inconspicuous I whispered a short "what?" to Matsuomoto.

"Do you have the notes from friday?"

"yeah...why?"

"I kinda fell asleep and now I don't understand anything we're doing"

I rolled my eyes at the boy as he gave me a nervous laugh and as kind smile, his eyes turning to half crescents and shoulders shrugging. I plopped my white binder on his desk and whispered a small "you're welcome" to his prompt thankyou.

It seemed like classes droned on forever and ever, the clock ticking by in slow motion. I'd write the notes down from the board like a zombie, not using my head, and just daydreaming of other things. It was a talent I'd picked up when I was young.

Finally the bell rang as I stood up and stretched my arms above my head. I turned to Matsuomoto as Asami approached us, melon pan in hand and a fuzzy, happy look on her face.

"what's got you all excited, it was just Japanese and math" I said, quirking an eyebrow at the girl.

"well, it's now 10:30, which means I'm that much closer to getting out of here"

"didn't know you were that excited to get out of school. Don't you have volleyball practice today?"

"nope! Sakura-chan canceled with the coaches permission due to a few of the girls catching a cold. Thank god for an immune system of steel!" She fake flexed her muscles imitating a body builder and growling jokingly while she grinned.

"Have you talked to Morisuke-kun lately?" I inquired while snatching a small piece of her bread.

"yeah, since spring semester is over and he spent the winter working, mom convinced him to come home so he'll be coming back here soon to stay for a couple of months."

"you think he's grown?"

"pfffft," Asami covered her mouth with her hand and crouched over, "my brother? grow? oh man, that's hilarious." She began to snicker.

"hey, you're shorter than him so I wouldn't say anything"

"but here's the difference, I know  I've stopped growing and I've accepted being short"
