👾

The jovial rhythms played by the taiko group filled the area as couples, familes, and just generally groups of people happily explored the town and conversed with each other. I held onto Kenma's hand tight, not wanting a repeat of the eighty million times I or the volleyball team has lost Kenma, and then in turn Kenma getting lost himself.

We walked past stalls, I looked at all the games, noticing a familiar couple... and apparently Kenma also did, because his next movements were quick and fluid. He tugged me over towards a small, but decently lit alley, so we weren't in too much danger.

"I don't want to run into any of the team while we're here" Kenma pouted a bit.

"Okay, okay, it's fine, we can just avoid them" I laughed a bit, swinging mine and his hands that were intertwined back and forth while I patted his head.

"they're gonna be a pain in the ass if we run into them..." Kenma pouted even more, "especially Yamamoto and Lev-san"

"alright, alright I get your point, but still, we can't hide in this alley the whole time" I gave him a small hug and tugged Kenma out, taking him to a less crowded section of the village that most people overlooked because it was closer to the mountain.

The lanterns lined back and forth, the string holding them up zig-zagging between the stalls. I stopped at a small stand that sold handmade charms, looking over the collection.

"should I add a new charm to my bracelet?" I looked over to Kenma, holding my wrist up to show him that I had the charm bracelet on.

he just hummed a bit.

I looked over the charms, looking at all the beautiful displays. One had managed to catch my eye sever times over though, it was a small gold charm with multicolored resin filling in the lines that were in the shape of a firework.

The tenant walked up and offered to help me

"I think I'm gonna get this one" I smiled to her, pointing to the firework charm.

"alright, that's twenty-five dollars" she spoke, pushing the blue plate for the money forward. I went to get my wallet out of my purse but Kenma stopped me and handed her the money.

the bowed and went off to go make a copy of the charm.

"Why do you always pay for me stuff?" I turned to Kenma, a soft look on the both of our faces, "at this point I'm going to make you go broke and then I'll feel bad." I laughed a bit

"Because, it's my way of paying you back"

"what do you mean paying you back"

"paying you back for putting up with me, and all the happy memories you've given me."

"that's not something you have to repay someone for. Besides, it's not 'putting up with you', it's enjoying my time and enjoying your presence."

"still..."

"just don't go broke because of me, okay?"

He nodded a bit before the shop-keep brought us the charm, she handed me the small jewelry box.

I opened it up and took the charm out, I looked at Kenma and smiled a bit, handing the charm to him, "here, could you clip it on for me?"

he looked flustered for a minute but nodded his head and took the small charm from me. If it weren't for the red and pink light being casted from the lanterns I'd say he was blushing.
