"would everyone please welcome kodzuken and neko gēmā to the stage" the announcer excitedly says into the microphone as a sea of cheers erupt from the crowd

"you ready?!" I excitedly smile at kenma. he nods and we both walk out on stage hand in hand and sit down at the table with two other gaming friends, Rei Hanaguchi, and Yosai Furakara. I can hear fans screaming things like "i love you guys" or "you two are so cute together" and can't help but smile a little more.

Kenma and I sit down and wave to the crowd

"congrats on the engagement" Rei says which causes a blush to rapidly spread so much I'm practically a tomato. Rei laughs at that. 

"thank you." Kenma replies, making a smooth save of the situation. 

"so how did you propose to her?" Rei interrogates

"a date? but aren't you busy with stuff for bouncing ball?" I questioned my long term boyfriend, making sure he puts the future first

"it's fine, i won't have any meetings after 3:00 today, so we're fine to go. ill pick you up at 5, 'kay?"

"are you sure, i mean you've had a long day at work, don't you just want to come home and relax, we can play video games or something together"

"no, i want to take you out on a nice date kireina-chan, so be ready by five and i'll be there to pick you up"

"fine, but at least tell me where we're going"

"i'm going to tell you anything other than the dress code"

"why not" I pouted over the phone. I heard a small laugh come from the other end

"it's semi-formal, i left money our room if you want to go get anything before i'm home, i've gotta go to a meeting now, i love you"

"love you too"

"see you at 5"

click, he hung up. I was confused as to why he wanted to go on a random date all of a sudden, but eventually took it with a grain of salt.

I decided to get changed so I could go look for a semi formal dress since the only dress I owned was on the longer side because of the one time I had to go to a black tie event with kenma. I couldn't find my favorite hoodie, so I just took one of kenma's since those were my second favorite. the fabric smelled like him, warm cinnamon with a slight hint of cologne, I indulged in the smell; it was almost intoxicating for you. I can't lie,  I missed kenma while he would be away on occasion to run bouncing ball, but that was only for a couple of days a month, so I could survive. We both also tried to schedule when I'd leave to run rakki neko, so that we both could spend as much time as possible together, but this was one of those once-in-a-blue-moon months that the two of us couldn't manage to line our schedules up.

I got to the shop I'd found when I googled 'places that sell semi formal dresses'. it was a higher end boutique and I mentally cringed knowing it was going to cost a lot, and I refused to use the money kenma left, since it was my clothes after all. as soon as I stepped foot into the store the smell of champagne and roses slapped me in the face, giving me a small headache. I'd agreed on meeting up with Asami becuase she wanted to go shopping with me that weekend, but I told her I had to get a dress so she insisted on coming to help me.
