After Kawari dropped Kenma off at his house he took me back home so I could pack my things up. I decided I'd stay at the mansion for a few nights. It was a decision mostly made so that I could look through the information of what is now my empire and whatnot.

I set my bag down in my room in the house and made my way back to my dad's office, sitting back down in the chair and going back onto the computer. The email account I was currently looking through was his company account. Whatever he has in his personal account can wait until the weekend.

I was scrolling though looking at invoices and stock updates, and even a few emails from his offices in London and in Seoul. His next adventure was to branch out and open an office somewhere in either New York, California, or Washington. Those places he'd tole me once before are major trading hubs between the U.S. and America.

As I was scrolling through, finding nothing but small variations of the same thing I noticed an email sent by Mr.Shigeta. It was dated two days after the last day Shigeta spent at Nekoma. I clicked on it and a window opened in front of me.

Hello Mr.Tensai,

My deepest apologies for the mess my son has created of our plans, I truly did look forward towards the future of our children and our companies. As it stands, Kento has left randomly and hasn't returned home. From what we've heard from some connections is that he's eloped and gone off to a different city. After a long discussion with my wife, we both agreed it wouldn't be wise to continue associating with Kento. My sincerest apologies for any hassle Kento has created and I thank you for the opportunity.

Shigeta

Shigeta was disowned...

I looked down to my feet and clasped my hands in my lap.

I really didn't know what was worse: being disowned by your family, but free by your own will. Or being orphaned, and although you desperately wanted to be free, it wasn't by your cause.

Shigeta probably knew it was going to happen, but he still kept a smile on his face and moved foraward. He knew he wouldn't be happy or fulfill anything he truly wanted if he continued down the path that was predetermined for him. He made a sacrifice for the both of us, even if it had self-serving intentions behind it.

I sighed and leaned back in the chair, I spun around to face the floor-to-ceiling glass window behind me. It looked out over a portion of the city. You could see the sky tree in the right portion of the view and spot headlights to cars and motorcycles as little dots.

The room was dead silent. This is how it'll probably be for me for a while now. Hell, probably the rest of my life. If I go then when I'm gone Kenma will just find someone better, but if I don't he'll probably be mad and just leave me and say I don't ever listen.

Maybe if I'd done something else or been a less stubborn and more forgiving person my dad would still be here right now. Maybe if I said "can you reschedule so that you can absolutely make it to my graduation" that night over the phone instead of quickly ending it and crossing my fingers his flight home would be delayed. I couldn't help but to think this was a bitter way of getting what I wished for. Almost like it's my fault.

I went to bed at around midnight that night. The school said we didn't have to be in until later in the day, something they didn't do last year. They also told us to arrive in cap and gown.

I walked in front of my mirror and fixed the cap on top of my head. I'd spent a good amount of time that I really didn't want to getting ready. I tugged on my gown and turned around.

"you look great," Kawari smiled at me and patted my shoulders, "both of your parents would be very proud. So would your grandmother have."

His kind smile never ceased to warm my soul, even if only for a moment. I felt tears prick in my eyes that I had to blink back.

"thank you," I reciprocated the smile, "shall we go?"

Kawari nodded. He'd fixed himself up in a nice suit since I'd reserved a ticket for him in the first place. I was already planning on giving the rest of my tickets away to someone who had a big family that was close anyways. I picked up my dad's ticket off of the table in the entryway and left to head to the school.

I made my way into the line that was in alphabetical order and waited for it to slowly clear out until my name was called. I stepped out to the side just enough to catch a glimpse of Kenma. He has his hands balled in a fist and tugging on his gown. He was biting his lip and looking out onto the crowd with a furrowed brow. I knew it wasn't because his family wasn't their, no that's not it at all. His mom went so far as to bribe the seating person to give them a front row seat. She even managed to get an extra one so Kuroo got to sit in the front too.

Funnily enough, one of the people who received my left over tickets was Kuroo. When they gave us our ticket amount Kenma and I just decided to combine it since I was expecting only to have two people and he wasn't expecting nay family besides his parents to come. So, with that we gave Kuroo and Kai tickets. Yaku was already covered thanks to Asami.

Speaking of Asami, I looked behind me in line now, finding her. As per usual, she had a bright smile and was waving to her family. Then, Morisuke walked over to his mom after talking to someone, and saw Asami. He made an L with his fingers and put it on his forehead, mouthing the words "loser" to his little sister. I saw Asami's brows furrow and she mouthed something along the lines of "go to hell"

With how weird the seating arrangements were for graduation, Asami's family got in the second row of the third group of seats, so they didn't have to bribe to be up front.

I watched as the ceremony began and a girl from class 7 addressed the crowd as valedictorian.

Finally they began handing out certificates and slowly the line became shorter and shorter.

Then, came Kenma's turn.

He walked up onto the stage, taking the tube that had his diploma in it from the principal, bowed and walked to go off stage and group up with the rest of the graduates as was rehearsed.

Then after a little longer after my name was called.

I took a deep breath and began walking, concentrating on my steps so I wouldn't fall. Finally I got to the principal and he extended a black tube with red and white flowers on it to me. I accepted it and bowed, eager to get off stage.

I took deep breaths as I walked off, making my way for the sea of red caps and gowns, and hopefully to quickly find Kenma.

I wormed my way towards the center since that's where Kenma would most likely be. Least seen and least heard, the best spot for him.

I made it in about ten steps and was the blond streaks extending from under a cap and tugged on his sleeves. He turned around with an annoyed look on his face but as soon as he saw it was me he walked a little closer to me. He latched his pinky onto mine before fully clasping my hand so he wouldn't lose me.

Finally Asami walked into the crowd with a bright smile on her face.

and within ten minutes the last kid was called up to receive their diploma and the principal gave us students one more speech and excused us to go to our families.

we'd done it. we'd made it.

Happy one year of Neko-chan!!! I can't believe I've been at this for a year now! It seems so strange. So, to every one of you guys I really want to say thank you so, so ,so ,so much for being here with me throughout all of this (especially the 7 people who'd read the beginnings of this the night I published it). I love each and every single one of you and I can't express how thankful I am for all of you. This book probably wouldn't have gotten where it's at without you guys.
