Chapter 1- Dont give up on me yet

Harper is still doing CPR on gabby. This has been going on for about 10 minutes now
"Come on gabby! I can't explain to Casey that his wife isn't coming home!" Harper says out of breath
Harper checks for a pulse and can find a very weak one. She puts Dawson over her shoulder and takes her out to the ambo. She steps back and let's the paramedics do their work. They drive away and Harper turns to her truck
"You all did great today!" Harper says getting in the truck
"I'm guessing we're going to med then?" Herrmann says
"Yep!" Harper says looking forward
They drive to med to discover Casey and Kelly waiting
"Harper!" Kelly says rushing over to her
"I'm fine!" Harper says as Brett walks in
"You were supposed to have her back!" Casey shouts
"I know I'm sorry" Brett says looking at the floor
"Sorry isn't good enough! My wife and the mother of my kids is in there! They don't think she'll make it through the night! How am I supposed to tell Miles and Caroline huh?" Casey shouts
"I" Brett says before Casey interrupts her
"You ran out! If you had stayed then you could have helped her!" Casey shouts
"Hey! That's enough! If you wanna blame someone blame me! I made the call for Dawson to come into the building! I should have known that it wasn't safe! If you wanna make me feel worse than I already do then go ahead!" Harper shouts
"Harper" Casey says
"No! I have already lost a firefighter this month! I'm not ready to loose a paramedic under my watch!" Harper shouts before walking out
Kelly follows her and finds her sitting on a bench outside of the hospital
"He's going through a hard time" Kelly says sitting down next to her
"I know! I shouldn't have gone off at him like that!" Harper says putting her hands over her face
"It's okay! He understands!" Kelly says rubbing her back
"I stood up for Brett! I hate her! What is wrong with me!" Harper says as Kelly smiles
"That's why I love you!" Kelly says giving her a kiss before they head in
"Harper! I'm sorry!" Casey says with tears in his eyes
"Hey! It's all good! You were there for me when Kelly was in the same position as Dawson! I'm here for you Matt!" Harper says putting her hand on caseys shoulder
Just then Dr.Choi walks out with a sad look in his face...
