Chapter 15- The CFD galla, Part 1

Kelly answers the phone from the hospital and it turns out they rang the wrong number.
"It's the Galla tonight!" Casey says
"You really expect me to go to that?" Kelly says shocked
"You need to! Your a captain Kelly! And Harper would want you to go! Represent her as well!" Casey says
"Fine!" Kelly says getting up
He heads home and gets cleaned up. He spots the dress that Harper was supposed to wear and looks at it for a good second. He then gets changed into his suit and heads out. He walks in and is greeted by a boy showing him to his table
"Captain and Mrs Severide?" The boy asks
"Just mr Severide!" Kelly says looking at the empty space next to him
"Ahh okay! Right this way!" The boy says leading Kelly to the firehouse 51 table
Kelly sits down and can see Harper's name tag so he turns it upside down so no one can see it. He talks to the rest of the firehouse for a while until the ceremony starts. Commissioner Grissom walks up onto the stage
"Welcome everyone to the annual CFD Galla! I hope you are all having a splendid time tonight!" Grissom says as everyone cheers
"Now! As you all know Captain Harper Severide was recently involved in an accident which has left her on a ventilator in Chicago med. Harper is in our thoughts and prayers right now" Grissom says
"Why is he bringing up Harper?" Kelly whispers confused
"I have no idea?" Casey replies
"A couple of week prior to the accident I had asked Captain Bailey to present something for me tonight but obviously she can't" Grissom says looking down at papers in front of him
"Asked her to present something?" Kelly says confused
"However the day of the accident I received this voicemail and I'm going to play it all to you now!" Grissom says as he puts on the voicemail
"Hey everyone! I can't be there tonight for obvious reasons but I don't know what those reasons are yet! You guys might be mourning my death or watching me rot away in a hospital room! But I'm gonna try and keep this positive! The reason I'm talking to you all tonight is about a firefighter who has a very special place in my heart! Captain Kelly Severide!" The voicemail says
"That's Harper?" Cruz says shocked
"And she's in the fire!" Gabby says shocked
"It must have been really important!" Casey says
"He would do anything to save a victim and I would know as he has saved my life many times! Kelly is so caring and kind which is why everyone loves him! He treats the victims with respect and would run into a building that's about to collapse to save someone he's never met! I have been so lucky to work alongside Kelly for these past few years and everyone at 51 would back me up on that! So that's why I am pleased to give Kelly a medal for bravery! This badge shows that he would do anything to save a stranger! Congratulations Kelly! I'm so proud of you!" The voicemail says before Grissom stops playing it
"Get your ass up here Kelly!" Grissom says as everyone cheers
Kelly walks up onto the stage and shakes hands with Grissom....
