Chapter 1: Zeke's Dream

Zeke opened his eyes as he was floating in a pitch black area. "Where am I?" Zeke asked as he pretended he was swimming to a keyhole he saw in the distance. He turned the nob and the doorknob jolted. "I beg your pardon!" the doorknob spoke. "Oh sorry. Didn't mean to startle you," Zeke said. The doorknob had a grey tinge to it and the door was a dark black color "That's quite alright," the doorknob said. "May I help you?" the doorknob asked. "I was hoping you could tell me where I am. This place seems off," Zeke said. "Oh yes, this is The Great Unknown. No one knows what happens until you see what's on the other side," the doorknob mysteriously said. Zeke looked confused. "If you don't believe me, why don't you see for yourself? Turn my knob and I'll show you into a place where all your dreams come true." Zeke gulped and opened the door. When it opened, he didn't see anything. "What the..." Suddenly Zeke fell down down down and the door slammed shut. Zeke fell for quite awhile until he landed on his butt. "Ow, son of a..." he said. Just then, he realized where he was. He was in Toon Town and toons were walking right through him. "That's weird," Zeke said. He walked up to a restaurant where he peeked through and saw him and Maddy eating dinner together. They looked more like young adults than teenagers. He watched more to see what was going on. 'Thanks Zeke. This was really nice,' Maddy said. 'It's no trouble at all,' Zeke blushed. There was a long pause and he gulped. 'So I heard you had a surprise for me, care to tell me what it is?' Maddy asked. Zeke just sat there and then he remembered. "Oh yeah that well I...um...' He looked at Maddy's beautiful shimmering eyes. He said a few things to Maddy then he brought out a box with a ring in it. 'Madalyn Lightfoot, will you marry me?' Zeke asked. Maddy squealed as she gave Zeke a big hug. But something was off. When Zeke saw his older self and Maddy kissing, he realized that wasn't Maddy but someone else he knew. Just then, Zeke turned around and heard something. He looked behind him and watched another scene unfold. 'Leave her alone!' Zeke realized it was his older self again but he was guarding Maddy who was lying on the floor with no response. Then he felt a dark presence and looked at a dragon that had red eyes and sharp fangs. 'Look at this! It's the husband coming to save the day! How lovely! But you're too late! Once the magic is taken, she will be taken with it! No one can stop me or your pathetic wife!' the dragon laughed. 'Oh yeah! Think again!' Bella said as Maddy's friends including the bullies she befriended were all guarding her. Zeke heard a clock chiming midnight and he slumped to the floor. Suddenly, Zeke started to disappear. "No! Maddy! Noooooooo!"

Zeke woke up as he shot out of bed. Breathing heavily, he realized it was just a dream.
