Chapter 20: Zoey Sneaks Out

The wedding was in a couple days. Morning came and Zoey woke up. She saw a note on the bed that said: Headed to decorate for the wedding be back soon! Love u! Love, Zeke. Zoey felt happy that Zeke was still being friendly to her but she wanted to see Paul. So she got into her normal dog self and headed out the door. When she got to the park, she saw Paul teaching some kids how to play baseball. Zoey watched in awe and she felt in love. Paul noticed Zoey and walked up to her. Zoey hid behind a tree and panicked. "I can see your tail," Paul chuckled. Zoey came out from behind the tree and smiled. "Hey," she waved as Paul waved back. "Ah, I see your playing cricket," Zoey said. Paul laughed. "No silly, it's called baseball. It's similar to cricket," Paul said. "Looks like fun! Can I have a go?" Zoey asked as Paul nodded. They walked over to the baseball field. Zoey took a bat and swung it around until she fell flat on her bum. Paul ran over to her. "I should have told you I never actually played," Zoey said. "I can teach you, here," Paul said. He wrapped his arms around Zoey's waist, positioning her. Zoey felt butterflies in her stomach and blushed. Paul then went to the pitcher's mound and threw a ball. Zoey hit it. The ball bounced off of many things until it broke a car window. "Hey!" SpongeBob said as he saw his car window shattered. Paul took Zoey's hand and they ran off together. They got to a hill and laid on the grass. They laughed and laughed until they stared into each other's eyes. "Wow Zoey, I didn't know you were a good hitter." Paul said as Zoey giggled. They paused. "Say, if you're not doing anything tonight, would you like to go to Tony's Restaurant to eat?" Paul asked. Zoey wagged her tail. "That would be splendid!" Zoey said as she and Paul giggled. They looked into each other's eyes. They were about to kiss when  Zoey's watch buzzed. "Oh sorry, but I have to go home. It's a dirty mess where I live," Zoey said. "Don't worry, my room is always a pig sty," Paul chuckled and Zoey giggled at his joke. "See you tonight?" Paul asked. Zoey nodded. Paul went up to Zoey and gave her a piece of paper. He kissed her cheek and waved goodbye as Zoey waved back at him. Zoey was excited and squealed with glee. She read the note: Call me anytime! You're pretty cute. -Paul Pig

Zoey got back to Zeke's house just in time. She got in the bed and read the note as she held it close to her heart. "I'm back Maddy!" Zeke called out as Zoey panicked and quickly turned into Maddy. She put the note from Paul in a drawer and slammed it shut. Zeke walked in, putting his stuff away. Zoey smiled and they both went to bed that night. It was midnight and Zoey's phone kept buzzing. She quickly woke up and ran into the guest bathroom. She got multiple texts from Hades but ignored them just for this time. She secretly got ready for her date with Paul and closed the front door quietly.
