No matter how my day was going Thor always knew how to make it better because even if he was going through a rough time he would always prioritize my happiness. His amazing hugs were for everyone but the conversations on the balcony, the walks in the park, and the late nights in the kitchen were reserved for me. He always addressed me as a lady and seemed to have so much respect for me. I never really knew why Thor treated me this way, but I didn't complain either. I never bothered to ask although we had numerous private conversations together where I had the chance to. Perhaps he just liked me.

The one night I couldn't sleep no matter how hard I tried I went out to the balcony in my room to get a breath of fresh air. As my mind wandered to different places, they inevitably ended up on the thought of Thor. He had become my comfort person (or God) and even though I didn't know why I was unable to sleep, I knew I wanted him there. I had been standing still leaned over the railing with a staring gaze for about 15 minutes when I heard familiar footsteps approaching me.

"What are you doing up, my lady?"

"The better question is what are you doing in my room at this hour, Thor?"

I could tell the question made him nervous and he just scratched the back of his neck as his gaze averted from mine.

"Well, I couldn't sleep, and I wanted to check in on you."

"You don't need to worry about me, dear," I replied with a reassuring smile to convince both him and me.

"Then why are you out here at this hour, my lady?"

My smile grew even more.

"Oh, it's nothing serious, I just couldn't sleep."

"Then something must be bothering you."

I turned around completely to face him and laid a hand on his chest. I had to tilt my head to be able to meet his searching gaze.

"I adore the way you care for me, Thor."

"I adore you, my lady."

As the last words left his lips he leaned in a bit and let his hands find my waist. Both my hands laid upon his chest so that I could steady myself as he made me feel all giddy. He pulled me closer whilst keeping eye contact.

"The moonlight makes your eyes sparkle most extraordinarily."

He barely finished the sentence before he kissed me. Although his grip was tight, he held me with such care, as if he was scared that someone would take me away. The kiss was as sweet as I always had expected it to be. When he eventually pulled away, his grin stretched from ear to ear, and it made me melt. That one question was still circling in my mind though and I needed an answer.

"How come you have such respect for me? Even from the beginning when you didn't know me."

"Steve had told me about you, your struggles, and to me, those struggles are equivalent to battles. You are the toughest warrior I've ever met."

I knew exactly what struggles he was speaking of, all the loss and trauma I had been through. A tear trickled down my cheek, but Thor was quick to catch it with his thumb.

"Please do not cry, my lady," Thor said as his own eyes started to become glossy.

I didn't want to cry, I wanted to be the hero that Thor saw me as. No one had ever had such a respectful view of me, and it made me feel honored. No one had ever cared about me like this before. This genuine affection was completely new to me.

When the tears were gone, the only thing left was a slight smile that I couldn't resist. This time I leaned in and pressed my lips onto his and I let my arms find their way around his neck so that I could play with his beautiful hair.
