Summary: You plan an entire day for Thor where you hope to remind him of happy memories. Though your intent is perhaps a little selfish you hope that your efforts will change his mind about an important decision.

Warning: There's some heat in there (These feel less like warnings and more like intrigue tbh)

"Gods woman, where are you taking me?"

I giggle as I take a left turn and then look at him with promise.

"Thor, I told you, it's a surprise!"

He scoffs under his breath before a playful smirk appears on his face. He loves surprises but his eagerness is uncontrollable in these situations.

"What could the surprise possibly be? There's nothing but sand and mountains out here."

"I guess you'll have to wait and see."

He goes silent and adverts his attention to our surroundings. His gaze flickers to every new item in sight as he tries to figure out where we are going. He might actually figure it out, he should. He has been here before. We went here his very first week on earth. Well, he might've visited here before but not in my lifetime at least.

Sometimes the memory of our first encounter finds me at the oddest moments. I'll be filling out paperwork and suddenly reminisce about the day Thor showed up at my doorstep with a golden retriever-like presence. It must have been that presence and his confused state that convinced me to help him, which isn't the normal thing to do when a stranger shows up at your door frantically blabbering about his father and a mysterious hammer. My first instinct wasn't to fear him but I knew I couldn't let him stay with me. I gave him the couch and fed him for a couple of weeks before I took him to New York for someone else to take care of things. It made sense at the time. I had contacts in SHIELD and I had somewhat of a close relationship with Natasha Romanoff. For some reason, I was sure that this was something they could handle.

Yet, when the time came, I was suddenly scared. Not only because of my frail plan but also because I cared for Thor even back then. I felt like the universe had brought him to me and I was just tossing him away to someone else because I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't know if he was just a crazy person but when I looked into his eyes, all I could see was honesty and devotion. He meant so much to me because I didn't have anyone else.

Not even halfway to New York I pulled the car over and got out. Thoughts were flying around my head; the world was spinning and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, or what I was getting him into. It felt stupid to react that way but I couldn't help it. I simply stood looking at the view, unable to move. We were high up, on a road that meanders around a mountain and I could see everything from there. It was overwhelming.
