Chapter Twenty-Four: In Love

Shower in virgin blood. The two siblings thought at the same time. Claude chuckled.

"This is called aging gracefully."

"Not when you don't age a day. It's like you stopped aging at 23 years old."

"Say what you want to say."

Cayena huffed. Arthur looked at his father.

"I'll go to bed early so I can have energy for tomorrow's training." Arthur lied smoothly and left the table.

Arthur snuck out with the help of his Devine creature, sky. He flew him all over back to the capital. He wore a dark cloak and ran to where he assigned the gurads to buy Penny and Lidia's house. Arthur saw Penny near a lake, wearing her new dress with her hair showing the real beauty of the magenta hair.

"Penny!"

"Arthur? Arthur!"

The two ran to each other and Penny wrapped her arms around Arthur. The young prince's cheeks turned pink but hugged back. He cleared his throat and pulled away.

"So, what's up?"

"Hehehe, come one! I'll show you my favorite place!" Penny took Arthur's hand and ran.

"W-wait!"

They jumped on the rocks in the lake and ran. It was refreshing to be this free to Arthur. He felt Sky follow them from flying above them in his invisible form. They reached a big tree that had a hole in it's roots.

"What's this?"

"My hide out. Come in." Penny crawled in it. Arthur followed her and it lead to a tunnel they crawled until it head to-

A cave filled with gems and crystals sticking out of rocks. It was mesmerizing. Arthur stared at his surroundings in awe.

"Woah."

"I know right? I found this place a couple months ago when I accidentally fell into an unstable ground and fell here!"

"This is the bets place to hide and even have a second home!"

"Hehe, come on!"

They ran around and laughed. The two of them looked at the beauty of the caves and saw some interesting creatures that didn't exist outside. After hours of spending time with each other Sky interred and his tails as glowing. Arthur clicked his fingers and a voice came through.

"Art?"

"What is it?"

"Arthur, you have to come back now. Dad will check up on us and if you're not in bed you'll be in big trouble."

"Alright, I'll be there shortly ... time to leave."

Penny sighed.

"Hey, now. We have a full month! Let's go."

And just like that. The two of them spend time with each other at least 5 times a week, go to places or just chill in the cave. Angelica would join in sometimes, too. A month passed by like a breeze. It was the last day and Arthur was in a different outfit that's he would usually visit Penny. It was obvious he was leaving because he looked down with an upset face.

Penny began crying and Arthur hugged her. Reassuring her that he'd visit as frequent as he can, it'll be easier since the two empires sighed a contract to transport each other medical help.

"Hey, hey. Pen, come on. You're making feel worse than I already am." Arthur said.

"B-but you're saying goodbye!"

"Goodbyes aren't forever!" Arthur argued. His hands on her shoulders.

Jeweled blue eyes stared into the green turquoise ones.

"Goodbyes aren't forever. Not the end either. It simply means that I'll miss you until we see each other again." Arthur smiled.

Penny felt better and wiped her tears, giggling.

"That sounds better."

"There is that smile I know and love!- err, smiles are good so smile more. It'll keep the bad things away." Arthur cleared his throat, his cheeks red. Penny nodded.

"Here." Arthur handed her an amulet with the Obelia crest on the sapphire gem.

"Click behind it."

Penny did and the sapphire brought out a hologram of her and Arthur next to each other with Penny hugging him from the back laughing, Arthur had an amused smile on his face.

"Th-this is beautiful."

"Click it whenever you miss me."

"Wait! I also have something for you!"

"You didn't have to-"

"Here!"

Arthur looked at her hand and it was a frame made of gold with flowers frozen in it. Penny's name and his name written side by side with their hands prints on it. Arthur felt his heart beat faster by the second.

"You- did you- ... you made this?"

"Yes!"

"These hand prints are from a month ago!"

"Yeah, it took a while." Penny laughed nervously. Arthur smiled and pulled her to a hug.

"Don't forget about me okay?"

"Never."

"Good." Arthur let go of her and bowed. His hand took the small hand of Penny and kissed the top of it like a gentlemen. Penny got flustered.

"Until we meet again. Ego ibo cogitare vestrum quotidie, ama." He said the last part in ancient language.

At the end of the day Penny asked a translator to translate what he said and the woman smiled and said.

"This boy is truly romantic! He said:-"

Penny wen those with a red face. She lied on her pillow and thought of what he said.

"Until we meet again. I'll think of you everyday, love."

In another place Arthur looked outside of the carriage window with his cheeks pink. Angelica knew exactly what that look meant.

Someone's in love~

Don't you dare tell Athy.

Oh no I will!

I hate you.

I love you too, brother!

When they came back home they were hugged to death by Athanasia. Needless to say the two sisters won't stop teasing Arthur about Penny.
