"The famous Red Recluse," said Barrett, a smuggler who Y/N had been chasing for 2 months, "I expected more from you, but you're just another pretty face."
"You really think I'm pretty?" Y/N raised an eyebrow.
"So," he leaned forward and stroked her cheek, "Who do you work for? Gerald? I thought so," he continued, "He was there when we were exporting."
"I thought he wasn't responsible for the smuggling," said Y/N, shuffling her wrists against the handcuffs that tied her to the headboard of the bed above her head.
"Your information betrays you," Barrett smirked at her, "pity," he traced his finger down her neck to the valley of her breasts and then to her hip, "You know what I have in mind?" he leaned forward and whispered in her ear huskily.
Y/N clenched her jaw and stared ahead, frowning slightly at the mention of the new name.
The cellphone of one of the bodyguards of Barret started ringing. Everyone stared at him as he answered the call. He pulled the phone away and pressed it against his chest. "It's for her," the man jerked the phone at Y/N and she cocked her head in confusion.
Barret grabbed the phone from him, "Now listen here─"
"Room 104, Second Floor, Hotel Oasis. If you don't put her through the phone, I'll blow up your room before you could get your pathetic ass out."
Reluctantly, Barret complied and put the phone under Y/N's ear. She held it with her shoulder, giving him a skeptical look, "Hello?"
"Chop chop, N/N," spoke Nat through the phone, "We gotta go. I'm on my way right now."
"I'm in the middle of something, 'Tasha," Y/N rolled her eyes, "This fool is finally spilling the tea. I can't just─"
"It's Clint." Y/N's expression cleared. "Coulson told me that he's been compromised."
Y/N puffed her cheeks and sighed, "Hang on just a moment," she turned to the man closest to her and signaled for him to take the phone.
When he was just in the right distance, Y/N wrapped her legs around the man's neck and pulled herself up. She yanked her hands swiftly, breaking the wood of the headboard of the bed; but the handcuffs were still intact on her wrists. She hit the back man's head harshly with her elbow and knocked him out.
Y/N got off him, headbutted another man as he lunged for her, and kneed the other in the groin. She picked up a gun from the floor and shot both in their thighs, kicking away any sort of weapon in their reach, under the bed.
She walked towards Barrett with her gun held in front of her in both hands as she flipped her long H/C hair behind her shoulder.
Barrett stared at her in black shock and held his hands beside his head, "Please don't shoot me,"
Y/N casually pressed the muzzle of the gun to his forehead, making him take a sharp breath. She shook her wrist, indicating to release her. Barret tapped the pockets out of his coat and pulled out a small silver key. He inserted the key in the lock and the cuffs fell in between them as he twisted it unlock.
Y/N smiled and knocked him out by hitting his temple with the muzzle of the gun.
She picked up the phone and stuffed the gun in her handbag. "Did Coulson say anything else?" She said as she slipped on her stilettos, closed the door behind her, and walked out of the room down the corridor.
"He told me he'll fill us in when we meet him," said Nat, "Fury told me to get you too."
"Great, What did he mess up now?" she walked into the elevator and dusted her dress.
"Something about the Tesseract."
"Well shit," grimaced Y/N, "This is really bad then. Where're you at?" she asked into the phone as she walked out of the building.
"On your right," and a car screeched to a stop to Y/N's side. Nat lowered the window and raised her eyebrows, "Now aren't you a sight for sore eyes?"
Laughing, Y/N pulled the door open with a click and got into the passenger seat, "Good to see you, 'Tasha," she said bringing her in a hug.
"You too, N/N," Nat smiled. "That's Dr. Bruce Banner," she jabbed her thumb over her shoulder at the back seat and Y/N turned around. "Dr. Banner, this is Agent Y/N Dmitri."
"Nice to meet you, er, Y/N," said Bruce, awkwardly.
"Likewise," She returned the smile," Oh, and your research on quantum astrophysics and work in gamma radiation is exceptionally impressive."
"Oh," said Bruce quite flattered and feeling much more comfortable, "Thank you,"
"She's a nerd like you too," said Nat as Y/N tied her hair in a bun.
"I believe the word you're looking for is 'smart'," Y/N pointed out.
"It's just a nice word for 'nerd'," Nat smirked and the car tore through the road.
