Y/N sat in the hospital bed with Maria and Fury after a few nurses patched up her broken arm. She was prescribed to wear an arm sling to support her broken left arm for about a month.
"We leaked everything," Fury explained as Y/N fiddled with the drive in the right hand and zoned out, "We had to," he exchanged a dark look with Maria, "Including São Paulo." This caught her attention and she snapped her head up at him from the floor. "Sorry about that," he pursed his lips with a defeated expression, "We—"
"Yeah, yeah," Y/N waved him off and pocketed the drive, "It's okay. I'll just have a lot of explaining to do to a bunch of bitches in blue."
"Don't call them that while you're explaining," Fury rolled his eye, "Before I forget—" he pulled out a black rectangular box from his coat pocket and placed it on the bed beside her. Y/N picked up her glass from the table beside, wiped the lenses with the hem of her shirt, put it on, and opened the box.
"I thought it was gone with the helicarrier," Y/N said as she looked down at the AI chip named D.A.V.I.D. (Digital Assistant Virtual Intelligence Device)
"Turns out, it didn't," Maria crossed her knees and leaned forward on her chair, "Couldn't retrieve AIDA's hardware. So, we thought you might like this."
Y/N shot a thankful smile and furrowed her eyebrows together in confusion, "Why're you dressed up like that?" she noticed her formal attire.
"She's going to be working for the Stark," replied Fury and stood up from his chair, "For the time being, till I return."
"Good luck putting up with his shit," Y/N huffed a small laugh.
"I've had enough experience with you two so," Maria pointed between her and Fury and shrugged with a smirk, "It'll be the same. Except this'll a testosterone version."
Y/N rolled her eyes and looked around for a certain redhead, "Hold on, where's Nat?"
"On your right"
Heaving a frustrated sigh, Y/N turned towards the door to see Nat leaning on its frame with a smirk.
