📍AVENGERS COMPOUND

"Okay, here we go," said Bruce, "Time travel test number one. Scott, fire up the, uh, van thing." Scott walked towards the minivan and pulled the rears doors open, powering up the Quantum tunnel.

"Breakers are set," Steve announced as he walked down the hallway towards Nat and Bruce by the controls, "Emergency generators are on standby."

"Good, because if we blow the grid, I don't wanna lose, uh, Tiny here in 1950s," he jerked a thumb at Scott who was about to slip on his helmet.

"Excuse me?" he questioned.

"He's kidding," Nat assured, her eyes on the tablet in her hand, "You can't say things like that," she glanced up at him.

"It was just a bad joke," Bruce stammered.

"You were kidding, right?" she asked lowly as Scott walked to the van in a serene manner.

"I have no idea," he hissed at her, "We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke or none of it is," he looked up at Scott and put up a bright smile with thumbs up, "We're good. Get your helmet on."

Scott did as he was instructed and Bruce continued, "Scott, I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around an hour, then bring you back in 10 seconds. Makes sense?"

"Perfectly not confusing," he waved a hand with a doubtful smile.

"Good luck, Scott," Steve said firmly, "You got this."

"You're right," he nodded with a large grin, nearly tearing up because Captain America had given him a compliment, " I do, Captain America." An orange abyss sprung out of the van and swallowed him up into itself forcefully.

"On the count of three. 3, 2," Bruce prepared to turn on the switch, "1," he pushed down the button and looked up.

The machine whirred and released a teenager in Scott's suit, "Guys?" the boy stuttered, "This doesn't feel right."
