Y/N, Tony, and Vision were watching through the glass window as Rhodey was sent in for a fullbody CT scan.

"How did this happen?" Tony whispered to Vision, walking over to his side from Y/N.

"I became distracted," he answered, guilt written over his features.

He scoffed, "I didn't think that was possible."

"Neither did I."

"Tony," Y/N stopped biting her nails and turned to him with a look, "It wasn't Vision's fault. It was an accident."

But Tony shook his head incredulously and walked away, making her sigh. She followed him out of the room and saw him glaring at Nat by the door. She gave her a pitying look, knowing exactly what she had done.

Y/N, Tony, and Nat were standing by a glass railing, staring off into the field. "The doctors say he shattered L4 through S1," Tony spoke, "Extreme laceration to the spinal cord. Probably looking for some sort of paralysis."

Y/N, standing in between the other two, leaned on the railing. "Steve's not gonna stop," Nat told, "If you don't either, Rhodey's gonna be the best case scenario."

"You let them go, Nat," Tony pointed out.

"We played this wrong."

"'We'?" he scoffed, "Boy, it must be hard for you to shake the whole double agent thing."

"Tony," Y/N gave him a warning look.

"It sticks in the DNA," he ignored her look.

Nat froze, "Are you incapable of letting go of your ego for one goddamn second?"

"T'Challa told Ross what you did, so they're coming for you."

"I'm not the one who needs to watch their back," Nat snarled and walked away from the pair.
