Happy Beginning Captain Swan

22 Weeks

Killian was working on patrol. Henry had an online class break and plays with Hope in her bedroom. "I have to go back to my class."
"No."
"Little sis, you can talk to Leia. Even if she is in Mommy's belly, she will hear you talk." Hope tugs her big brother's hand to their parent's room. Emma was taking her afternoon nap. He shows her how to talk to Leia. "Leia, Henry is here. Your big brother. Our sister Hope is awesome. Love you." He kisses his Mom's baby bump."
"You can sit right here. Leia will listen to you."
Hope climbed into the bed. "Hi, Leia. Henwy best bro." Henry smiles at his little sis. He cannot wait to meet his second baby sis. Hope was on her parent's bed lying next to her Mommy and talking to her baby sister. Emma wakes up hearing Hope talking and sees Hope hugging her baby bump. "Luv you, baby sis."
"Hope."
"Leia, Mommy wake. Talk soon." Emma smiles at Hope who was talking to Leia just like when Henry did when Hope was growing inside of her. She kisses her Mommy's baby bump. "Mommy!" She hugs her Mommy.
"Hi, baby girl. What are you doing?"
"Talking to Leia."
"Is she listening to you?"
"Yes. Henwy said she listens."
"Yes, she is listening to us talk. When she is born, she is going to know your voice, Daddy's, Henry's, and my voice."
"Leia know all of us."
"Yes, she will." She hugs her Mommy. "Did Henry tell you about when you were growing inside of my belly?"
"No."
She sits up and hugs her daughter. "Well, when you were growing inside of my tummy, Henry talked to you all the time. He used to read you his storybook. You would kick around when he was talking to you."
"Weally?"
"Yes! He talked to you so much in my belly."
"Dat is what I did. Talk to Leia."
"That is right." She kisses Hope on the head. "Do you want to bake?"
"Yes!"
"We can make chocolate chip muffins."
"Yes, muffins."
They went downstairs, Emma turned the oven on as Hope helped her Mommy by putting the muffin tray, spoons, mixing bowl, and ingredients on the counter. Emma was putting the flour, salt, butter, chocolate chips, and baking soda, and milk measurements, into separate bowls. She lets Hope pour the ingredients in. "Very good, Hope."
"Baker."
"Yes, you are my little baker." She kisses her daughter on the cheek. Emma made sure they mixed everything and put the mix in the muffin tray.
"More chocolate, Mommy"
"We have enough chocolate chips, sweetie. Mommy is going to put the muffins in the hot oven." Hope moves away. Emma put the muffin tin in the oven and timed it for 28 minutes. "Now, we have to clean up."
"Clean up." They were cleaning up the kitchen when Hope began crying.
"Hope, we are almost done."Hope cried more. She kneeled down knowing something was wrong. "Hopey, why are you crying?"
"Hurt."
"What hurts?"
Hope holds her left ear. "Ear, Mommy."
Emma knew she was having an ear infection and held Hope. "Mommy is going to make you feel better, sweetie." She gets her iPhone and presses the pediatric floor number.
"Hello, Dr.Cameron's office."
"Hi, this is Emma Swan. My daughter's name is Hope Swan-Jones. She has ear pain. Dr.Cameron told me to bring her in when she is in pain."
"Okay, you can bring her in right now."
"Thank you so much." She gets her red leather jacket on and her purse. "Henry?"
Henry goes to the stairs. "Yes, Mom?"
"When the timer goes off, I need you to take the muffins out of the oven."
"I can do that. Where are you going?"
"I am taking Hope to see Allison at work. She is having an ear infection."
Henry holds his sister. "Little sis."
"Henwy."
"Hope, you are going to feel better soon, little sis. When you get back, I can read you a story." He kisses Hope on the cheek.
"Kid, we will be back soon." Emma takes Hope to the car and buckles Hope in who was still crying. She drove her yellow bug to the hospital and parks the car.
"Mommy."
Emma gets Hope out of the car seat. "We are going to see Auntie. She will give you medicine to feel better." She carried Hope in and signed Hope's name in. They sat in the waiting room.
A nurse calls out, "Hope Swan-Jones." Emma gets up holding Hope. "Dr. Cameron will see her in examination room 1."
Emma takes Hope into the examination room and sets Hope on the table. A nurse checks Hope's temperature and blood pressure. "She has 100. fever. Her blood pressure is normal. Dr.Cameron is going to be in a few minutes."
"Mommy." She sits next to her daughter and hugs her. "I am staying here next to you."
Allison enters the room. "Hi, Emma." She looks at her niece. "Hi, Hope. I heard your ear hurts."
"Yes...it hurts Auntie."
"I am going to check on your ear, Hope." She gets an otoscope out. Hope hugs her Mommy.
"Allison, it is her left ear. Auntie is just going to check your ear, to see why it is painful." She rubs Hope's back.
"I am only going to look in your ears." She uses an otoscope to check into Hope's right ear. "Her right here is normal." She checks the left ear seeing fluid in the ear and sees inflammation. "Emma, Hope has a middle ear infection. She will need warm compress and ear drops." Hope cried more.
Emma puts Hope on her lap and hugs her. "We are going home now, baby. Auntie is going to give us medicine to make your ear feel better."
Allison holds Hope so Emma can get off the examination table. "You are going to feel better soon."
"Owie, Auntie."
"The medicine that I give you will help stop the pain." They walk out to the hallway.
"Dada!"
"Hope." He takes Hope from Allison. "Dada is here."
"Ear hurt." She hugs her Daddy.
"Swan."
"Killian?" They hug. "What are you doing here? Are you supposed to be at the sheriff's station?"
"Henry called me that you two were here. I had to come."
"Hope has a middle ear infection. She has fever too."
"Poor little love." He rubs Hope's back. "Dada is here."
"Emma, I sent in the prescription. Her ear drops will be twice a day with her lying down. Since she has a fever you can give her baby Tylenol."
Emma sighs. "I hate seeing her in pain."
"She will get better in a week Emma. How are you feeling?"
"I still feel huge and tired but Leia is healthy."
"Mommy, home."
"We are going home, baby girl."
"Girl time."
"Yes." She holds Hope. "We are going to have a lot of snuggles. Killian, we will be right back. I have to pay the co-pay." She takes Hope with her.
Killian goes to Allison. "She will only need ear drops and antibiotics."
"I have a question?"
"Sure?"
"I'm wondering about Emma, should she be carrying Hope? Since she is with child."
Allison smiles. "Emma can be holding Hope, Killian. I carried Connor a lot when I was pregnant with Lizzie."
"Aye, I just want to make sure. She is always holding Hope. It is weird when she was holding our little lass."
"That means she is a great Mom. She is being there for Hope. I have a feeling she will be carrying both of your girls."
"Aye I know, she will." He smiles. "We will both be."
"If you or Emma have any questions, call me."
"Thank you, Allison."
"Dada!"
Emma carried Hope back to them. "There is Dada. He is with Auntie."
"Dada."
"Little love." He takes Hope from his swan.
"Dada, home with Mommy and me." Emma was in awe. Hope wanted her Daddy.
"Yes, I am coming home with you and Mommy, little love." She hugs her Daddy.
Emma hugs Allison. "Thank you."
"I am her god-Mommy and..." She places her hand onto Emma's baby bump. "And her god mommy." She hugs Emma. "I will come by later to check on my goddaughter."
Killian drove into town to get Hope's medicine from the pharmacy. "Home, Mommy."
"We are going to go home. We are going to eat our muffins that we made." Her husband returns to the driver's seat.
"Killian, I can hold the medicine." He gives his swan the medicine. Hope holds her Mommy's hand. "Dada is driving us home, sweetie." Killian drove his three loves home. He helped his swan out of the yellow bug first and carried Hope inside. They entered the house, finding Henry and Ava making out on the living room couch. Emma and Killian looked at each other and smile. They closed the door loudly making a loud thud which made Henry and Ava jump and stop kissing. "Mom!"
"This is doing homework?" She gives Henry a look.
"Well...Ava came over after I finished my homework."
"Emma, he was finished. We were just talking."
Emma chuckles at making her son and his girlfriend nervous. "Henwy."
Henry takes Hope from their Dad. "Owie,Henwy."
"Kid, your sister has an ear infection."
"Little sis, the pain will go away soon." He kisses Hope on the head, who just cried more.
"Kid, she needs her medicine." Emma takes Hope from her son. She carried hope into the living room and sat on the couch with Hope on her lap.
"Swan, I got her medicine." He kneels to Hope and spoon-feeds her baby Tylenol. Henry got Hope water to drink the medicine down. "Good, little sis."
"Hope, you need to lie your head on my lap." Hope did as she was told.
"Little love, hold still."
"Stay still on me, sweetie." She rubs Hope's head. Killian puts the two ear drops into his ear, Hope cried more."You are almost done, Hope."
"Don't like it,Mommy."
"It is going to help you stop the pain in your ear."
Henry gets his storybook and sits near his sister. "Dad, mom, I have an idea." He looks at his sister. "Hopey, I have my book."
Hope looks at her brother. "Wead, Henwy."
Henry smiles and opens his book, "Once upon a time, there was a long-lost princess of the Enchanted Forest..." Hope slowly stopped crying. Emma and Killian smile at each other. Ava was sitting down and smiles at her boyfriend. Killian places a cotton ball into Hope's ear.
"Henwy!" Henry sits on the couch and let Hope on his lap. "Ava, sit."
"I can join you and Henry?"
"Yes!"
Killian helped his swan up from the couch. "Killian, I am starving."
"Aye, let's get my two loves to eat."
"Ava, are you hungry?"
Ava went to Emma and Killian. "Emma,Henry, and I ate already. When Henry told me about Hope, I brought you all over Granny's."
Emma smiles. "Thank you, Ava."
"I knew you and Killian need something to eat. I brought you all your usuals."
"Aye, we really appreciate the lunch, Ava."
"Ava! Come back."
"Mom, Hope is going to spend time with me and Ava." Ava joined them on the couch.
Killian and Emma went into the kitchen. "Killian, how about we eat our lunch in our bed and watch Netflix?"
"Swan, I am bringing up our meals." "Thank you, my pirate." They kiss. Killian went ahead. Emma smiles as she waddled past Henry, Hope and Ava reading. By the time she arrived in her bedroom, Killian had their meals set up and Netflix ready. "Emma, I have Outlander season 5 setup for us to watch." Emma lies down on her bed. Killian hugs his wife. "I know my swan had a rough morning and needs to rest."
"I am tired. I just know we are going to be up all night with Hope." She rubs her baby bump.
"What are you thinking,love? You have that look."
"How are we going to raise a newborn and a toddler? Henry is going to be in college most of the time. When Leia is up at night and Hope is sick. It is going to be you and me...."
"Emma, we are going to learn to be parents to two babies together. I know you are nervous. I am nervous too but I am so excited to be a Daddy again to a little newborn lass. We are going to raise our girls together. Also, we have babysitters to help us like Allison or Ava. I have a feeling they will help us a lot."
Emma sighs happily knowing her Killian was right. "You are right. I just got thinking because Hope is sick now. I don't know how I am going to comfort the two of them both needing me at the same time."
"Emma, you are not superwoman. If they both need you that means, I am going to be right here to hold one of our little loves and help her because you cannot be in two places at once. I have a feeling that our little loves are going to be hugging you at the same time because you are their amazing loving Mommy. We are going to take care of our two daughters together, which is why we are a team."
"Team Swan-Jones."
"Team Swan-Jones." They kiss. Emma laid her head on her husband's chest. "Are you ready to eat?"
"Yes, Leia and I are hungry." He hands his wife her meal. "Yes, my grilled cheese and onions." Killian smiles seeing his swan happy and turns on Outlander. Emma bites into her grilled cheese. "Mmmm." She smiles. "I needed this." They ate their lunch and watch Outlander. After she was done eating,Emma hugs her husband and watched her favorite show lying on his chest. Killian smiles his swan, hugging him. He kisses her on blonde head and hugs her back.
Back downstairs, Hope was still upset. "Little sis, do you want a muffin?"
"Yes."
"I will get her one, Henry." Ava returns with a muffin. "Hope, you bake with Mommy today?"
"Yes." Ava gives her a muffin. "Thank you,Ava."
"You are welcome, Hope."
Hope eats her muffin. "Henwy?"
"Yes?"
"Ear hurt, want go away."
"The medicine that Daddy put in your ear, will help the pain go away." He hugs his sister. "I know how you feel because I had a lot of ear infections when I was around your age." Hope hugs her brother. "You are going to feel better soon, Hope." Hope cries more. He brings up his sister to their parents, his Mom fast asleep on the bed and Dad sees them. "Dad?" Killian goes to them. "She is in pain."
"Son, I got your sister." Killian takes Hope from his son. "Little love."
"Dada. Ear hurt."
"Oh, little love. The ear pain will go away." He takes Hope to her room so Emma can continue to sleep. He snuggles with Hope on her bed. "You are going to feel better soon, Hope."
"Mommy..."
"You want Mommy?" Hope cried more. "We are going to Mommy, Hope. Mommy is in her room." He carries Hope to their room and turns on the light. Emma wakes up from her slumber hearing Hope crying. "Mommy."
"Hopey." Killian gives Hope to his swan. "Is your ear still hurting you?"
"Yes. Ear owie, Mommy."
Emma checks Hope's temperature. "Killian, she needs another dose of Tylenol."
"I will get her medicine, love." He returns and spoon-fed Hope her medicine. "Good, little love." He gives hope her sippy cup of water. She lies down on her Mommy.
"Your medicine is going to help you soon, sweetie. For now, you can stay with me, little duckling.."
"Mommy and Hope time?"
"Yes, we can do whatever you want."
"Tay with you." Hope kisses her Mommy on the cheek and hugs her.
Emma was in tears, hugging her daughter, who just wanted to be with her. She is being there for her daughter, "Mommy is here."
"Potty." Hope lead her Mommy to the bathroom.
"Awiel undiewear."
"Yes, sweetie. I am going to get you a little bath and change you into your big girl underwear."
"Awiel pajamas."
"Yes, sweetie." She runs Hope a bath and made sure her ears did not get water in her ear. She dried off Hope with a towel and let her dress by herself.
"Mommy hair."
Emma brushes her daughter's damp blonde hair. Hope hugs her Mommy. She holds her on her hip. "We get to snuggle." She takes Hope into her room and gets into bed. She rubs Hope's back and talked softly to her until Hope fell asleep.
"That is my swan." He kisses her on the head. "I just know you are going to be an amazing mommy to our two little loves."
Emma smiles. "I love being a Mommy." She kisses Hope on the head. "I love being Henry and Hope's Mommy. I cannot wait to be Leia's Mommy." She rubs her baby bump.
"Let me know if you need anything, love. I will be right downstairs cooking dinner."
"Thank you." They kiss. Killian goes downstairs to cook dinner.
Ava and Henry went downstairs to play a few rounds of video games. "What do you want to do this weekend, in our spot or at my house?"
"In our spot. We can have a picnic."
"Yes! I really hope that Hope gets better soon." She gets her bag. "You are an amazing big brother, Henry. I just know you are going to be an amazing big brother to your baby sister." Henry got sad. "What is wrong?"
"It is ..." He sighs. "I am not going to be around for my baby sister. I am going to be in Boston. I am excited to be a big brother again. I am not going to be here for my sister just I am now for Hope. My Mom had many miscarriages..."
"You are going to be a great big brother to your baby sister, Henry. I know that I will be finding you here with both of your sisters when you are home from college." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I know what because you take care of Hope and cheer her up when she needs you. You are going to be the same big brother to your baby sister, Henry. Just the same big brother as you are with Hope."
Henry smiles. "You are right. I am not only going to visit my family. I am going to visit my girl."
"Oh really?" Henry kisses Ava. "I will take that as a yes." They continue to kiss.
The door opens and it was Allison, the door hits the couple. She sees them kissing. "Henry, Ava!! I am so sorry. I did not know you were behind the door." Killian hears what was going on from the kitchen and gets closer to Allison, Henry, and Ava.
"Aunt Allison, that's okay."
"Allison, you did not hurt us."
"It's my fault, I did not know you were behind the door."
"Allison, you caught them making out?"
"More like interrupting them." They all laugh.
Henry walked Ava to her car. "How is Hope?"
"She is in a lot of pain. We gave her Tylenol and ear drops. She is upstairs with Emma."
"I do need to ask you something?"
"Of course."
"I want to plan a surprise baby sprinkle for her and Leia."
"Sprinkle?"
"It is a baby shower party but it is a sprinkle for the second or third baby."
"Aye. I do not know. Emma does not like surprises. We have most of everything for Leia from Hope."
"I am pretty sure there are new baby supplies for Leia. It is a way to celebrate Leia's arrival. I can organize the baby shower for my best friend and goddaughter on the way. We can have the party at my house."
Killian smiles thinking they can celebrate Leia on the way after Emma and him had a hard time conceiving Hope ."I do like the sound of that. I have a feeling Emma will love the party celebrating Leia."
Allison smiles. "Yes! I can start planning."
"I am pretty sure your best friend wants to see you."
Allison goes up to Emma and Killian's bedroom, seeing Emma awake and Hope fast asleep on her. "Hi, Emma."
Emma smiles. "Hi, Allison. Come in."
"I came here to check on my little goddaughter and to talk with my best friend."
"Hope has been crying most of the day. She just fell asleep. I hate seeing her in pain."
"I was very happy to see Hope today at work."
"She did not give me a hard time taking her to your office, this time." She looks at her best friend. "How did you manage raising Connor and Lizzie at the same time? They are close in age? I am afraid I won't give them the same amount of care of love when they both need me."
"I know patients who have one child after another. It will get easier when Leia arrives. You will be able to give the same amount of love and care. Also, Killian will be helping you, especially for the first three months. If you need an extra pair of hands with your two girls, I can come help."
"I will take you on that offer. We are signing Hope for pre-school in the fall. Speaking of school, Killian and I are planning Henry's graduation party and ceremony."
"What is your plan?"
"We are getting his high school diploma in the mail. We want to have a party for him in the backyard. I already have decorations for the party. We are going to surprise him. Ava is helping us by distracting him."
"I am excited to surprise him."
"I invited most of the town because everyone saw him growing up."
"I know you are going to throw him a great party."
"Henry has been working so hard in his classes. Especially in his artwork. I am happy and proud my baby boy is going to college. I could not...I had to get my GED while I was pregnant with him in prison. I want him to go to college and have everything I did not have."
"You are giving him everything, Emma. You, Killian, and Regina are. He is graduating high school. Your son is going to college."
"Yes, he is. I know Hope and Leia are going to graduate high school like their big brother." She hugs her daughter.
Hope wakes up. "Mommy."
"Hi, sweetie."
Hope looks at Allison. "Hi, god-Mommy."
Allison smiles at Hope. "Hi, little goddaughter." She sets Hope on her lap. "I heard from your Mommy that your ear still hurts."
"Yes, god-Mommy."
"You can snuggle with me while Mommy and I talk."
Hope hugs her auntie. "Stay."
"I am staying with you and your Mom to have girl talk."
"Yay!" Emma and Allison both smile at each other. "Mommy,sit with you."
"You can sit with me." Hope sits in between her Mommy and Auntie. "Leia." She hugs her Mommy's baby bump. "Leia.." She kisses her Mommy's baby bump and falls back to sleep.
"Emma, she is sleeping which is a good sign."
"I just know Killian and I will be up with her most of the night."
Henry returns inside and went up to his parent's room. "Mom, how is Hope?"
"She is fast asleep. What happened downstairs?"
"Ava and I were talking...." She gives her son a look, she did not believe him. "Okay, kissing. Aunt Allison opens the door which knocked into us."
"I did not know you were there!"
Emma laughs.
A little while later, Allison left the Swan-Jones house to head home. The family had dinner together, Hope was upstairs sleeping. Killian made roast beef, mashed potatoes, and string beans. Henry was talking to both of his parents.
Killian finds his swan in the bathroom. He goes downstairs to get her an ice-cold glass of ginger ale and returns to hold her hair as she was vomiting. Emma stops when she felt less sick and leans back into Killian's arms. "Emma, you are white as a sheet sail, love."
"Yea, I feel like crap. After I ate dinner." She lies into his chest and he hugs her.
"You are with me, Emma. I am going to take care of you." He kisses her on the head. Emma hugs him. Henry sees his Mom in the bathroom. He went to get Hope out of their parent's bed. Hope wakes up in her brother's arms. "Henwy?"
"We are going to have H&H time."
"My woom?"
"Yes, little sis." He carried his sister to her bedroom.
"Stay."
"I am staying here with you, Hope. We are having H&H time." Hope hugs her brother.
Killian guides his wife to their bedroom and tucks her into bed. "Do you need anything, love? Something to drink or eat?" Emma nods her head yes. "Alright, love. I will be right back." Killian goes downstairs to the kitchen. He brings her up a glass of ginger ale.
"Thank you." She takes the glass from him and drinks it. She laid on his chest and hugs him. "The food was delicious, by the way. Leia is not a fan of your cooking."
Killian rubs his wife's baby bump. "Aye, she is only 22 weeks. Leia will love my cooking once she arrives."
Emma hugs him. "Yes, she will have the milk form of your food." She looks up at him. "I love you, Killian."
"I love you, Emma." They kiss. He hugs her back, she felt safe in his arms. She falls asleep on him feeling safe in his arms and the sound of heartbeat calming her down to sleep. "I am right here, Emma. I am not going anywhere."
