---Hunter---

It has been a week at the Academy and I had been learning a lot.
During the day I followed my classes with Jade and in the evening I hung out with Ayra and Kenji.
The first time I spoke with Kenji, really spoke with him, he was kinda surprised.
I don't blame him. To him, it was like I had learned perfect Akeridian in one day.
Ayra was mostly relieved since she didn't have to translate anymore.

I had also learned to control my Magic.
I could now summon a ball of fire at will and could control small amounts of water. It was still very hard however and I couldn't even move a pebble or create a small gust of wind.
And don't even get me started on Time-manipulation.

But Jade had been right. I already was the most powerful Elemental to ever walk the halls of the Academy. Some teachers even say that I can become more powerful than the Hero of Five-hundred Years ago.
I had also gotten word from Nox Caligo. He had heard of my reading and deemed it enough proof that I was a Champion of Magnus. But he first wanted me to master my ability's before I could claim the Seals.

And so, here I was. In class with Jade listening to our teacher about different kinds of monsters. We didn't really take it seriously. I silently laughed at the doodles that Jade was drawing.
After monster class, we had combat practice.

"Everybody stand in front of your partner." Master Grim, our combat teacher instructed us.
We did as he told, me standing on the left and Jade on the right side of the field, and took a battle stance.
"Okay when I say so, the ones on the right side fire a single shot at their partner and the ones on the left side will block it. Repeat that three times and then switch roles.
As Jade prepared a ghostly projectile with her magic, I tried to think of the best way to defend myself.

I didn't see the next thing coming.
Jade fired her shot but just before it hit me a wall of stone appeared in front of me. The sheer power of Jade's projectile shattered the wall, showering me in little pieces of rubble.
"Very good mister Grey. And miss Fang..."
Jade looked at master Grim "Yes sir?"
"Try putting a little less force behind your attacks. We don't want to kill mister Grey now do we?"
Jade grinned. "Please don't tempt me."
"Haha. Very funny." I said sarcastically.
"Well keep it up, mister Grey."

When Jade fired her next shot I pulled some water from a barrel nearby. Just before the projectile was about to hit me I formed a disk of water and willed it to turn to ice. The projectile hit the disk and shattered.
On her next try, she did something different. She summoned a floating sword made of these ghostly white material as her projectiles.
She flicked her wrist and the sword came flying toward me.
I closed my eyes and focused. Then I felt the familiar tugging feeling in my gut. I opened my eyes and was now holding my silvery sword: Shadow Cleaver. In the nick of time, I blocked Jade's blade which disintegrated.

Master Grim gave us the sign that we had to switch roles.
I snapped my fingers and a fireball flared in my hand.
I threw it towards Jade. She however just crossed arms and a translucent shield. She smirked. "You got to do better than that."

I snickered and summoned another fireball. This one however was blue and had lightning crackling inside. I looked at it in awe, having not a single clue of how I had done that.
Then I looked at Jade and smirked.
"How about this!" I threw the fireball.
It hit the shield and exploded in blue flames.
Jade grunted, but the shield held.
To finish it off I pulled more water from the barrel and formed it into a spike, turning it to ice and send it flying towards Jade.
The spike shattered on impact and the shield started to crack before also shattering with the sound of breaking glass.

Jade collapsed in exhaustion and I rushed towards her.
"Are you okay? I held out my hand l.
She took it and I pulled her up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired. Holding up a shield like that really drains my magic."

"Well done everybody."
We now all looked at master Grimm.
"Now we're going to switch things up a little. Everybody who is an Elemental, please raise your hand."
I raised my hand along with five others.
"Very good. Now pair up with someone with a similar element."
We did as he said and made pairs. I saw someone running at me and realized that it was Cinder Caligo.

She is the daughter of Nox Caligo and is used to get everything she wants.
She also happens to be a fire-Elemental, so her name was spot on.
I was not a big fan of her because she just would not leave me alone.
I suspected that she was told by her father to keep an eye on me.
I also suspected her of having a crush on me though I couldn't prove it.

I sighed. "What is it Cinder?"
"What do you think. We're a pair."
" Ugh, fine." We both took our battle stand.

Without a warning, she summoned a fireball and threw it at me
I shrieked as it missed my head by just an inch or two.
Cinder laughed as a new fireball flared to life in her hand.
"What is wrong with you!?" I shouted.
Cinder looked at me with a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"That fireball could have seriously injured me."
She shrugged. "Nah. The stronger fire-Elementals have fire immunity."
"Fine. But turn down the heat a little. And try not to aim for my face."
She now chuckled. "I'll try, but I will make no promises."

We did this for at least half an hour, shooting fireballs at each other and blocking them.
In the end, I nearly fainted of exhaustion.
I walked to Jade, breathing heavily. "Well, that went great." I smiled sarcastically
She smiled and punched my shoulder. "Yeah, it actually went great. I heard master Grimm say that he had never seen such a powerful Elemental as you."
"Well, Cinder Is quite powerful too. I really had to do my best there."

We made our way back to our rooms and I saw that there was a letter pinned on my door.
Jade saw it too and pointed at it. "What is that?"
I pulled it off the door and read it. "It's from Ayra. She says that Kenji is in trouble."
