---Jade---

I was on my way to my father's study.
Ayra and Kenji were just behind me, Ayra keeping one of her twin-blades unsheathed, just in case.
My dress was ruined, which was probably the reason why people were looking at us.
The three of us were covered in all of the monster's black, red, and green blood.
It was late, but knowing my father he was still up.
I knocked on his door.
"Who is it?" My mother's voice sounded from inside.
Great. Now there are both of my parents who will worry about me. I thought
"It's me, Jade," I answered.
"Come in." My father said.
I opened the door and stepped in.
"What is it?" My father asked.
Then he saw my tattered dress.
He shot up.
"What happened? Are you okay?" He asked concerned.
"I'm fine. Which is precisely why I'm here."
"What do you mean?" My mother asked.
I stepped aside to make way for Kenji.
"What is he doing here?" My father shouted.
Kenji looked at me.
I gave him a nod, a son for him to explain it himself.
He rubbed his neck.
"I broke out to warn Hunter. Two titans were heading for Djuren. Magnus had shown them to me. Then Hunter decided to go out to stop them.
In the end, he ended up defeating the titans, and I ended up saving your daughter's life, Your Highness."

Father looked back at me."Is this true?"
He asked."It is. He jumped in front of me when a goblin was about to strike me."
Father cleared his throat. "Hmm, very well, I thank you for saving the life of my daughter. But that doesn't mean I forgive you for what you did in the past."
Kenji bowed. "I understand."
"Is he free to go?" Ayra asked, hope glinting in her eyes.
Father shook his head. "No. I can't just pardon him for his crimes. To do that I would have to assemble the Council."
"Than do that." I said.
"I can't just assemble the Council." He resisted.
"You're the king of Akeridia. Of course you can." My mother said. "The boy saved our daughter's life. If she trusts him, we should too."
"Fine." Father gave in. "I will see what I can do. But until then, he will have to stay locked up."
I looked over to Kenji.
He nodded. "I understand."
"Than it will be so." My mother said. "Oh, and Jade..."
I looked at her. "Yes?"
"Next time you sneak out to fight monsters, change beforehand. It was a perfectly good dress you decided to ruin."
I laughed. "I will mom."

---Hunter---

I was not surprised when Jade told me that her father had decided to lock Kenji back up for now.
I was now sitting next to her in her treehouse.
She was resting her head on my shoulder, reading a book about Shadow-hounds.
She was wearing the same kind of blue dress she had worn during the feast and fight.
It had been two days already since I had defeated the Titans.
the King had sent letters to all the members of the Council and we were waiting for all of them to arrive here in Djuren.
"Look at this." Jade all of a sudden said.
I looked down at the page.
"What?" I asked, not seeing what she meant.
"Silver-eyed Shadow-hounds have the ability to see through illusions. They can share this ability with others if they want to. After studying this ability some more, we found a way to recreate this ability in the form of an enchantment."
"Cool, that could be useful. Does it say how to make the enchantment?"
"Yes, but it says that it only works for Warlocks."
"Works for me." I said smiling.
Then Ayra's head poked through the leaves.
"Jade, your father asked for you. The Council has arrived."
Jade stood up and readjusted her dress.
Then she looked at me. "Are you coming too?"
I smirked. "It's kind of my duty as the Champion of Magnus, isn't it?"
They both laughed.

A little time later we were standing on the other side of the palace.
"What is this place?" I asked Jade.
"It is the courtroom. This is where the Council gathers."
I heard heavy footsteps behind me.
I turned around and saw two big, muscular men with Kenji between them coming towards us.
"Is this really necessary?" I asked the guards.
"Orders of the King, my lord." One said.
I sighed. "Has he given you any trouble?"
They shook their heads. "No my lord. He has been quiet ever since he got locked up again."
"Then one of you can take a break."
They looked at each other, and then at me.
"But, my lord..." one started, but I cut him off.
"No. one of you will take a break or just go back to what he was doing before. That is an order."
They looked at each other and then quickly decided which one would go.
The one on the left of Kenji then bowed to me and left.
I turned back to Jade and Ayra and I could see that they were both struggling to not laugh.
"What? Two guards like that, it is total overkill." I defended myself and entered the courtroom.

Behind a long and tall desk sat the Council.
There were five men and three women, with amidst them the King.
"The Council, I presume?" I said.
They all nodded.
Then a woman spoke.
She had white hair and was rather slim.
"Who are you?"
I made a mock bow. "Where are my manners? My name is Hunter Grey, the descendant of Alexander Ambrousious Grey, Champion of Magnus."
They all started to whisper to each other.
Then the woman spoke again. "My name is Miranda Altum, ruler of Atlantis. It is wonderful to hear that Magnus has chosen a new Champion. But we will speak of this later after we have dealt with the matter we came here for."
"Bring him in" The KIng commanded.
The doors opened again and Kenji was brought in.
