---Jade---

I was sitting next to Hunter's bed with my hand on his arm.
It had been one week since Nox had been arrested. And he still hadn't woken up.
I then heard a soft humming behind me.
I turned around and saw a little orb of white light floating in the air.
"Hello, Aphelion." I said to the pixie.
Aphelion was my Familiar.

I had always known I possessed healing magic, just like my mother.
One day I had been playing in the woods nearby where I found Aphelion, wounded on the forest floor.
I had taken him back home and had asked my mother to heal him.
She had refused and instead showed me how to do it myself.
The moment I had touched him I had felt a connection.
He has stayed with me ever since.

"How is he doing today?" Aphelion asked, his light going a dark shade of pink.
I had learned to read his emotions based on his colours.
This shade of pink meant that he was concerned, but at the same time, it meant that he cared about me.
"You know," I said. "The same as the last couple of days."
"I could try to take a look inside." He said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Aphelion now turned yellow from amusement.
"You do know that we pixies have the ability to create and manipulate dreams, right?" He said.
I nodded.
We had a whole monsterologie class dedicated to this topic.
I had missed Aphelion during that class more than ever, but familiars were not allowed inside the Academy, not for new students at least.
"Where are you going with this?" I asked.
Aphelion bobbed up and down in excitement, turning a vibrant orange.
"I can create a dream for Hunter, so I can enter his subconscious to figure out why he isn't waking up."
"Do it then." I urged.
I placed my hand on his arm again.
"You're going to be all right Hunter. I'll make sure of that."
Then Aphelion flew over to Hunter's head and disappeared.

---Hunter---

I was laying on my back. Everything around me was black.
I tried to sit up, but I couldn't.
Where am I? I asked myself.
"You are in a place called the Void." A voice suddenly called out.
A very familiar voice.
"You again? Who are you?" I said.
"My name is Alexander Ambrosious Grey, but you can call me Alex.
But you probably know me as the Hero of Five-hundred Years Ago."
All of a sudden I could move again.
I stood up and saw a tall muscular man with brown hair and the same eyes as me standing in front of me.
He smiled at me.
"But how? You died like a lot of year's ago right?"
The man chuckled. "Yes, I did. I am just a manifestation of the memories of the real Alexander."
"So you're not a ghost?"
Now Alexander all out laughed.
"Of all the magical things, ghosts fall under the category of true fairytales. They don't exist, just like zombies, vampires and werewolves."
"Why am I here?" I asked him.
"I...don't know. This is the same place where I banished Tenibriss after I defeated him. But why you are here is a mystery to me."
"Who is Tenibriss?"
Alex's face darkened.
"He calls himself The Dark One."
Then I noticed something behind Alex.
I pointed at it. "What is that?"
He turned around and squinted his eyes.
"A pixie?" He said confused.
The little orb of light rapidly came near.
What is a pixie doing here? I thought.
Then I   heard my name
"Hunter..." The new voice said.
It took me a couple of seconds to realize that it was the pixie talking.
"How do you know my name?" I asked when the pixie was just half a meter away from me.
"My name is Aphelion. I'm Jade's Familiar. Man, am I glad I found you."
It said.
"First of, how did you get here? And secondly, Jade never mentioned that she had a Familiar.
Though she actually never mentioned anything from her past, so I guess that we can just forget point two." I said to the little critter.
Its light went yellow.
"I'm here because I made this dream. It took me some time to collect all the memories from your subconscious, and you were pretty far down."
"This is not one of my memories." I stated.
"They're mine. It must be a little confusing for you." Alexander said with a smile.
Aphelion bobbed up and down in agreement.
"But the point is that I can lead you out of here." The pixie said.
"The sooner, the better." I said. "This place is creeping me out."
I was about to follow Aphelion, butt Alexander stopped me.
"If you get out of here, can you do something for me?"
I shrugged "Sure. What is it?"
"Can you get my journal? It may contain some information about how to stop Tenibriss. My memory about how I did it is a little foggy."
"I will find it. If it might be able to help it will be worth it."
Alex grabbed my shoulder. "Thanks."
Then I turned around and faced Aphelion. "Lead the way buddy."

---Jade---

It had been an entire hour since Aphelion had entered Hunter's mind.
What if Hunter is too far gone? What if Aphelion can't find him. I thought.
Then, with a flash of light Aphelion reappear above Hunter's head.
"And?" I asked
Aphelion turned orange. "He is coming."
And a few seconds later Hunter shot into an upright position.
I jumped up and pulled him close.
"Don't you ever do this to me again.
You scared the living daylight out of me."
He pushed me away, carefully, breaking my hug, and looked at me confused.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"You were out cold for an entire week."
"I'm sorry. For me, it just felt like an hour or so."
"Aphelion? Can you get Ayra?" I asked.
The pixie flew away, under the door, into the hall.
I looked at Hunter.
Something was off.
Then I noticed his left shoulder.
I pointed at it. "What's that?"
On his lower shoulder were three small swirls, just like the ones that symbolized the element air.
He looked at it.
"I don't know." He said.
