"momma packed my lunch instead of mom" yeji pouted as she opened her lunch box

"what's wrong with your momma packing it instead" hyunjin chuckled

"momma puts so many vegetables" yeji whined, as she felt yunho sit beside her and immediately wrap his arms around her middle, placed his head on her chest.

"hey" yeji whispered

"hi" yunho whispered back

"where's sang at, yun" hyunjin asked

"not sure, he walked with renjun" yunho said, closing his eyes and moving his head to the girls shoulder.

in perfect timing, hyunjin spotted renjun and yeosang walk in together. yeosang immediately sat down and put his head on the table. renjun let out a soft sigh and rubbed his back

hyunjin, yeji, and renjun all gave each other sad looks, but didn't say anything, they're going to let the boys be sad. they'd be cruel not to.

it was a quiet lunch. and just a quiet day in general, it felt like years long. and with san not walking into their morning class to bring them a drink or snack from the vending machine, the day felt in complete.

with mingi, he felt alone. being the sibling that is in the same class as san, he now feels as though he took advantage of it. that he should've payed attention to his brother, should've went on the walks with him to the vending machine to grab snacks.

"mingi" felix snapped his fingers a few times to catch the tallers attention

"huh, sorry what were you saying?" mingi asked, shaking his head slightly

"it's lunch time bub, you wanna just eat in here" jisung said

"i'd rather not" mingi huffed and followed the two boys, plus lia out the door

again, a quiet lunch, a quiet day. mingi wasn't sure if any of them would be able to get used to san not being here, and even if it's temporary, it felt like anything but.

"how was school?" seonghwa smiled softly as mingi sat in the front and yunho and yeji piled into the back

the boys shrugged as seonghwa and yeji shared a look. "it was alright" yunho lied, knowing the look that his girlfriend and dad were sharing. might as well say something to please everyone

yeosang and renjun climb into the he very back after grabbing drinks for everyone from the cafeteria. mingi put his orange juice in the cup holder, yunho gave his pepsi to yeji to put in the door.

"hey mama-hwa, look at this" yeji showed the parent her phone, displaying a picture of san when they were on vacation

"on year ago today" seonghwa laughed "he did not like that fish" seonghwa shivered at the memory of san throwing up fish

"who didn't like fish" jongho asked as he opened the car door

"san" yeji smiled. jongho nodded and let wooyoung in so that he could talk to jangmi and chenle "see ya guys"
