Y/n  stares at the lake. "When I was little, my mom used to sneak out with me to take me to a lake. It was a lot smaller than this one, but beautiful." She says with a smile on her face, getting back one of the only good memories from her past. "And she always brought bread to give it to the ducks, knowing my father would get mad at her afterwards. She did it once a week, and each day knowing he would always get mad at her."

Lizzie looked at her as she talked, and as she mentioned her father. She was surprised about hearing Y/n say something about him, since she herself said she doesn't like to talk about him. Lizzie felt a little special, but at the same time, "Maybe she got caught up and didn't realize." she convinced herself.

Y/n looks at Lizzie.

Y/n: "I know I said I don't like talking about him, and trust me it's true, but I really feel like I can trust you. You know?"

Lizzie couldn't help but smile, forgetting about what she thought to herself before.

Lizzie: "I am so thankful." She says. "And I think the feeling is mutual."

Y/n: "Im glad." She smiles and looks back at the lake.

Lizzie: "Hey, I know it's not my place to ask, but I've been dying to know... who was that girl from yesterday?" She asks. "Was she your girlfriend?"

Y/n: "Hailee? No- she's just a friend."

Lizzie: "Oh I was just curious." She says. "You forgot you were going to meet with her, didn't you?"

Y/n: "Was it obvious?"

Lizzie: "Very." She laughs.

Y/n: "Sorry if that made you leave early."

Lizzie: "Oh no, it's fine. It seemed like something serious and I just- I didn't want to disturb."

Y/n: "Well it was serious."

Lizzie: "So, you guys were a thing?"

Y/n: "Yeah- No- It's complicated." She chuckles.

Lizzie: "I can see." She laughs.

Y/n: "We had something a few years ago, but it was just... a one time thing." She says.

Lizzie: "Did it feel like that?" She asks. "Like a 'one time thing'."

Y/n: "At that time... it didn't." She said. "But with time I had to get over it."

Lizzie: "Whatever happened, I'm sorry." She puts her hand in y/n's shoulder.

Y/n: "Thanks." She weakly smiles and sighs. "Do you want to do something else? I feel like I ruined the moment with that."

Lizzie: "You didn't." She assured with a small smile. "But if you want we could go grab something to eat." She suggested.

Y/n: "That would be amazing. My guts are screaming for a very good-"

Lizzie: "Pizza?" She cuts her off.

Y/n: "How the hell did you know I was going to say that?"

Lizzie: "Honestly, I don't know." She shrugged. "Maybe we are connected."

Y/n: "Im not sure though, because I was actually going to say pasta." She sarcastically said.

Lizzie playfully rolled her eyes and laughed.

...

Lizzie: "Best pizza I've ever eaten, I'm not even kidding." She says, cleaning her mouth with a napkin.
