Wrong Number

Chapter 32 - "Game day"

Hailee was driving the car, while Y/n was looking through the window thinking as the time went by. Y/n still doesn't know where Hailee was taking her, and Hailee didn't tell her until they were close to the place.

Hailee: "Okay so, remember the place we used to go to after school?"

Y/n squints her eyes, trying to recall what Hailee was talking about.

Hailee: "It was this mini golf and it has this ice cream place-"

Y/n: "Oh, yeah! I remember! Why?"

Hailee: "Well now it changed a lot and it has more stuff. I've heard really highly of it so I wanted to go try it out... with you."

Y/n smiles.

Hailee: "I know it sounds like kids stuff- i mean that's the idea." She laughs. "But today is just about two friends having fun, like the old times."

Y/n: "Okay." she nods, "Like the old times." and smiles again.

Hailee parked her car a bit far from the location, and they both got out of the car.

There wasn't a lot of people so the line to get the tickets didn't take long.

Hailee: "Okay, so listen, there's 5 different games and you get to choose 3, whichever you want."

Y/n looks at the big poster which had all the different stuff they could do, she stares at it while she thinks of what to choose. After minutes of thinking, she picked mini golf, go carts, and let Hailee pick for the last one.

Y/n: "What did you pick?" She asked after Hailee was done paying the tickets.

Hailee: "You'll see." She smirks.

Since mini golf usually takes a lot of time, they tried the ones that takes less. They tried go karts first, then what Hailee picked, and mini golf at the end.

Before they got in the go karts, a guy gave the two girls a 'short' lesson to help them ride safe.

X: "... As you approach each corner, avoid leaning your body towards the apex as doing this will place more weight over your inside wheels - exactly the opposite of what's needed. Instead, sit square in the seat and keep the weight distributed over the centre of the kart..."

The guy took a lot of time to finish his lesson therefore the girls never really payed attention to anything he said.

X: "... Nice and easy. And don't forget to enjoy yourself."

Hailee: "Do you remember anything he say?" She quietly asked Y/n.

Y/n: "No."

They both laugh, having no idea of what to do.

At first they were a little confused about how to use the karts, but as they started the race they eventually got it.

Y/n: "Shit that was fun." She says as she tries to catch her normal breath from all
the adrenaline she just experienced.

Hailee: "It really was." She laughs. "You ready for the next one?" She asked.

Y/n: "Yeah, let's do it."

The two girls walked to find the next game, which it was in the other side of the big place.

Y/n: "We're not doing this, are we?" She asked looking at it.

Hailee: "Oh, yes we are."

Y/n: "I hate heights." She whined.
