The honey brown eyes blink rapidly as they adjust to the bright lights in the room. The owner sits up slowly and looks around with confusion laced on her graceful face, until her eyes land on her husband that stands at her side. Jasper smiles softly at his wife, his hand cupping the side of her neck as his thumb smooths over her jawline. He had been deprived of touching and holding her in his arms for three days, and the moment he heard her wake up, he rushed to see her. "I missed you, my love." He whispers gently.

Mariposa grins at him confusingly. "Where was I?" She asks. The grin leaves her face when she sees that his eyes are no longer black but instead a bright gold. He also no longer looks miserable nor tired. She looks over her shoulder to see that she is in Carlisle's study, but this time it was clear of all medical equipment, the only things that were in the room were two beds, one of which is empty. A soft gasp tears through her lips when suddenly all the memories from three days ago hits her like whiplash.

Jasper frowns at her sudden panic, and uses his gift to calm her down. "Esme and I were attacked. I fought two wolves who wanted to hurt me. Jared wanted to attack me." She says shakily, her hands trembling in her lap, causing her husband to take them in his own.

"It's all over now, Mari." The empath assures her, making her relax. He helps her down from the bed, letting her bare feet touch the cold tile floor as he wraps an arm around her waist. "Jacob stopped the pack from killing us. He imprinted on Renesmee, which called a truce between us."

The brunette looks at him with the same expression of confusion that's been on her face since she's awoken. "Renesmee? Jacob imprinted? God, I'm getting a headache." She says as she places her hand to her forehead.

"I'll explain later." Jasper tells her, kissing her head. He pulls away and smiles down at her as he holds her warm hand in his cold one, gently tugging her towards the door. "Come on, Sophia has been waiting to see you."

At the mention of her daughter, Mariposa is out the door, pulling Jasper behind her. Despite that the tile floor was cold, and her feet were bare, the brunette isn't bothered by it. Soon the couple enter the living room where everyone, minus Bella and Edward, are gathered. Smiles are thrown in Mariposa's way as she walks, smiles that she returns softly. Her honey brown eyes catch a baby in Rosalie's arms as well as Sophia, who was being held in Emmett's arms. Her brows furrow in curiosity and confusion, but she quickly diverts her attention to her daughter as the child quickly runs into her arms after being placed down on the floor. Mariposa reacts without hesitation, holding her child closely to her chest, pressing a kiss to her head, sighing contently.

Everyone smiles at the sight, a sense of relief engulfing them as they were worried about both Mariposa and Bella since they were unnaturally still in their sleep. As well as the fact that Sophia never stopped asking for her mother, neither did Renesmee, those three long days. Though the family could have easily explained to Sophia about her mother's condition, they chose not to since they didn't want to worry or scare the young child.
