The past few weeks have certainly been hectic for Mariposa and the Cullens. For one, Mariposa finally found out what she is, a dhampir—a rare one. She had, after weeks of contemplating, spoke to Gina about her newfound abilities. And to her shock, her mother was a dhampir and her father was a vampire, a Moroi to be exact.

According to Gina, dhampirs live to protect Morois from their counterparts, the Strigoi. They're their guardians and the only way to kill a Strigoi is with a silver stake. Her mom was her dad's guardian but when he died, she no longer had someone to protect, only their daughter.

Mariposa learned that her dad had specialized in one of the four elements, Air, Earth, Fire, or Water. He practiced in the Air element, meaning he could manipulate anything air related to do his bidding. Morois could have other special abilities, like three out of the seven Cullens who have telepathy, subjective precognition, and pathokinesis. But for some reason, the girl had inherent all four elements as well as being born a dhampir.

The brunette is one of the rarest dhampirs in the world. Being an elemental dhampir isn't unheard of but they aren't known either. Gina said there is another elemental dhampir she knows but she hasn't been in contact with him in years but she said she'll try so he can help Mariposa control her abilities.

The second thing is the family of vampires gained a new person up from Alaska where the Denali Coven resides, Sebastian Byrnes. The boy is new to the vegetarian lifestyle so the Denalis thought it would be a good idea to send him down to Forks so the Cullens can help him and apparently he's Alice's mate. Once the two met each other, they were hardly away from one another.

And the last thing is Bella found out what the Cullens were because of Edward's careless behavior. He kept dropping hints about his secret and told her about his mind reading power after saving her from some drunk frat guys. And finally the pale girl knew and confronted the vampire about it, to which he admitted it. After that the two began dating much to Mariposa's and Rosalie's anger about it.

Now Mariposa stands in the Cullens' kitchen watching as her blonde best friend holds a bowl out to Emmett and Jasper, who are cutting up a salad. Annoyance is written all over goddess-like face. "Is she even Italian?" Rosalie asks, tapping her heel on the floor.

Emmett places the green in the bowl as he speaks, "Her name is Bella."

Mariposa shakes her head at him and places a perfectly sliced cucumber in her mouth before wrapping an arm around Jasper's waist and leans up to kiss his cheek, smiling up at him. Jasper looks down at her with an expression of love on his face. He leans down and kisses her lips shortly, seeing as they were with his family, before pulling away and putting his arm around her shoulder.

"I'm sure she'll love it no matter what." Carlisle says from his place as he cuts up some chicken.

"Mari, instead of distracting my brother, why don't you come over here and help me?" Rosalie jokingly says, holding the bowl towards the aforementioned girl, who grabs it with a chuckle.
