The thin breeze of the wind makes goosebumps appear on her arm. The grass tickles the palms of her hands as she racks them over the blades. The sun hits her, she looks like a goddess in the lighting. The soft sound of giggling echoes in her ears as she turns her head over her shoulder. The small toddler runs around the field of grass, a large and heartwarming smile covers her face. Cold fingers lightly touch her face as they move her brunette hair away from her face. She turns her head back towards the person sitting next to her, smiling at him.

"We have to get going." Jasper softly says, trailing his fingers down her wavy, soft hair.

Mariposa sighs, leaning into him. "Do we have?" She asks, pouting.

Jasper nods with a smile as he stands up, holding his hand out for her. "Come on. I think Emily is waiting for Phia."

"Papa! Papa!" Said little girl runs towards him, giggling as she does. He picks her up and holds her close to him. Her small hand grips a dandelion as she holds it up from Jasper to see it. "Look! Isn't it beautiful?" She asks, happily.

"It is." Jasper kisses her head, looking down fondly at her. "Just like you."

A smile makes its way to Mariposa's face as she watches the interaction with her boyfriend and daughter. The past two years and a half passed by like quick blurs, and since Mariposa now knows about the Cullen family secret, life seems quiet—well maybe not for the Alvarez girl. According to the family of vampires, she has no heartbeat and they couldn't smell her blood.

It was strange, of course, but Mariposa didn't know why. It was like a switch flipped in her after her seventeen birthday, she got quicker reflexes, increased strength and flexibility, and heightened agility. And if she could concentrate or if she was feeling anger, she could light small things on fire, manipulate water, air, and earth.

Mariposa had the ability to match the strength of a vampire and—theory created by Emmett, that was certainly ridiculous—a witch. She had made a mental note to ask her mom, but never got around it, as their relationship was strained at the moment.

Jasper clears his throat, gaining the attention of Mariposa. The girl looks up at him with a tiny smile on her chapstick covered lips. He bends down and places a small kiss on her cheek before pulling away and handing over Sophia to her.

"Go drop Phia off. I'll meet you at the school." Jasper tells her before in a blink of an eye, he disappears.

Mariposa sighs and shakes her head. She didn't understand why Jasper or the rest of his family didn't like going over at La Push. It was like they were forbidden to do so. The girl had asked them repeatedly but was always shut down.

The brunette and her daughter make their way away from the field of grass and flowers and to the girl's car, which was parked on the side of the road. "Mama, where did Papa go?" Sophia asks as her mom puts her in her car seat.
