"Matei!" Mariposa shouts as she walks into the kitchen with Sophia on her hip, finding the teen in question eating an apple. "Something's happened. And I'm kinda freaking out."
"What's wrong?" He asks, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"Phia, show Mat what you showed me." She turns to her daughter after setting her down on the counter.
Sophia giggles excitedly as she places her hand to the boy's cheek, showing him what she's thinking. The kitchen suddenly turns into a room and his brown eyes look around to see Sophia being tickled by Jasper as they lay on his bed, her adorable laughter ringing out in his ears. When she pulls her hand away from his skin, the kitchen comes back, and he blinks in shock as he looks over at a nervous Mariposa.
"This just happened out of nowhere." The mother tells him. "I was cleaning up her room and then she came up to me, showing me this new power she suddenly has."
Matei just stares at her before breaking out in laughter. The brunette looks at him in confusion, hitting his arm to make him stop laughing. "I'm sorry," He chuckles as he clears his throat. "Why are you being worried about this? This is a good sign, she's a dhampir, with an ability."
"I'm a mother. It's in my nature to worry." She tells him, looking at her daughter.
"Well, don't. Sophia is perfectly fine. A young dhampir, who has a gift, is fine. It's normal." Matei smiles at mother and daughter duo.
A sudden splash of water on his head makes him gasp as the cold liquid runs down his face and body. He opens his eyes to see Mariposa moving her hand back down to her side with a satisfied smile. "That's what you get for laughing at me." She crosses her arms with a wink.
"You are so dead, Mari." The boy begins to catch her around the house as her laughter sounds out through the halls. Sophia just simply brings the chair in front of the counter closer, slipping down back on the floor before heading to the living room, and turning the tv on.

"Huff and puff all you want, Embry, I don't care." The brunette jumps from tree to tree with a triumph smile, her stake in her hand. Matei follows close behind her as he grins at the two, his own silver stake in his hand.
