I sit in my team meeting half-heartedly listening to the things my boss, Varun Singh is saying. Most part of my mind remains solely on the events of last night and today morning. After thinking about everything multiple times, I feel a strange sympathy for Abhimanyu. Afterall he has a girlfriend that he wants to get married to but his parents got him married to me, so it's natural for him to be mad.

I make a plan in my head, I'll stop getting in his way and somehow manage to get this one year over with, then divorce him and be done with this marriage.
If we both don't bother eachother and do our own thing I am sure one year will pass in no time.

Suddenly a sharp voice breaks my train of thoughts. "Anybody has come up with any good idea?" Varun questions the whole team. I mentally swat my head for not paying attention and focus on the meeting.

Apeksha Raut who is my nemesis at work raises her hand and Varun gestures for her to continue.
"Sir, I was thinking how about we do a collaboration with Meera Jaiswal and have her exclusive interview be the hot topic of next month's magazine issue. She has become a new sensation in the fitness market and it'll be great." Apeksha suggests. Her idea is really boring and overused since just last month one other female magazine did that kind of thing.

"Sir, I don't think that's a good idea." I cut in, "Meera Jaiswal's interview was already published in two other magazines last month. It'll obviously look like we are copying them, plus using a fitness coach to garner more marketing area seems like a very overused idea. Over the last two years almost all women magazines have done that sort of a thing, and we have also already published interviews of some big names in the fitness industry." Apeksha shoots me a death glare.

Varun nods resting his index finger on his chin suggesting that he is in deep thought.
"I agree with Saanvi on this. Apeksha maybe think of something more different next time." Varun says to her on a light note. She gives him a tight smile and furiously writes something on her notepad.

"So...what about you Saanvi? Any good ideas to contribute?" He asks me. I quickly begin to explain the idea I was thinking about for a little while,

"I was thinking, how about we do an interview of the two top five finalists of the Miss India beauty pageant who didn't end up winning. All magazines always focus more on the winner or the top three and give more focus to those who know how it felt to win. But by doing an interview of the ones who came so close to victory yet didn't win we will be able to do something completely different. We can bring in the idea on how to manage failure and how sometimes not winning can give us a lot of clarity. " I suggest, bubbling with excitement. The idea seems really great now that I am talking about it.

Varun directs some questions at me and I smoothly answer them. Finally, he breaks a smile,
"Great idea. I think I agree with this pitch, let's work on this for the next month's issue. Anyone has any objection?"

Murmurs of 'no sirs' echo across the room, making my heart grow with pride. In your face Apeksha!
I smirk at Apeksha and she rolls her eyes. Varun says we'll discuss more about this in the meeting tomorrow and everyone scrambles out of the room. A couple of people congratulate me on my pitch idea as I walk to my cabin.

I plop myself down on my chair and am opening my laptop when a knock sounds at the door. One of the peons of the office is standing there with a huge flower bouquet. I thank him and take it. When I spot that the bouquet has red carnations and daisies, I immediately put it ten feet away from me since I am allergic to daisy. I pluck the white card that is attached to the bottom of it, and almost stumble when I see whats written in it.

Married my boyfriend. Stole my love.
The bomb is ticking.

Lots of hate,
