MY feet stomped along the carpeted floor

MY feet stomped along the carpeted floor.

I passed several wolves who all eyed me suspiciously. They all wondered what was going on with me — still wary of my presence. By now, I was used to ignoring them.

Alpha Gabriel's office doors came into view. I faltered, breaking my stride.

My sudden confidence vanished.

I felt my heart hammering in my chest. Anticipation crawled up my spine.

It was just action. I didn't even kiss him. I tried to reason with myself. It was going to be hard to do but all I had to do was apologize and tell him I didn't want things to change.

Sighing, I focus on the door and clear my mind. I was being dramatic for nothing. In my entire life, I have never been so nervous or unsure about something. Why does he make me feel like this? Was it because he was a strong Alpha? Or was there more to it?

I had no time to think about that now.

Taking a deep breath, I approached the door and knocked sharply. I could hear his heartbeat on the other side — it was regular and steady. He surely knew I was on the other side with his heightened senses.

"Come in," He commanded, evenly.

I swung the doors open and stepped forwards, rolling my shoulders back and keeping my head level.

"Alpha Gabriel," I greeted, my face nonchalant. My eyes were unreadable too. "I'm here to apologize."

He lifted his hypnotic eyes up to me. There wasn't a single emotion in there. No regret or pain. "You don't need to do that, Liberty." He replied, distantly. There wasn't a flicker of emotion inside of him. He was like a robot.
