Chapter Ten

*LIZZY'S POV*

         If there is one thing I'm grateful with the absence of the kids is that it gave us time to get close. The kids will be returning tomorrow. The kids were away for just a week but it felt like months. Past few days were great so far, didn't receive any call from my crazy ex. I had decided to go to the store down the street. I wanted to receive some fresh air. I sat down ordering a bottle of water. I was reading a newspaper enjoying the cool environment
         Guess who I met today someone suddenly says. I didn't know whether if she's talking to me or not but I ignored the voice.
          "Gonna pretend you didn't hear me?" The voice said again now getting closer to me which means she's talking to me
          I looked up to see the same ocean blue eyes staring at me with the same smirk
        "We meet again"  I said smiling.
         "Yeah and the last time I remembered.....
       "Yeah I know" I said already knowing what she has to say
         "Ok guess you still have your memory"
         "Yeah I still do, no recent memory loss"
        "Admiring beauty?"she  asked referring to what I said the last time
        "Maybe but mostly breathing some fresh air" I said. "You wanna seat down?"
        "Well  since you insist, why not she said getting seated. "It feels like you are stalking me" she says 
          You wish girl, "So what about you, what are you doing here?"
       "I  had an appointment with someone but the person didn't show up. About to go before I saw you"
       "Too bad, I wouldn't leave someone like you waiting" I said
        "Hmmm I would kill you if you do"
          So scared I said Both of us laughing at our joke. If there's one thing I like about her is that she's fun to be with
          "So when do we have that coffee" she asked.
         "When are you free" I asked
         "Tomorrow by one" she said
         "Ok I will be free by then too"              
         "Can I have your number?"  she asked  
         If you impress me, then I will give it to you, let meet the first place we met
        "Ok see you tomorrow, I can't wait" she said
         "Me too" I said

*LISA'S POV*

       I didn't want to go pick the girls alone cos I know that I can't tolerate what they have to say about me this evening. I decided to go with Lizz. The few days I tried to get to know her, she was a good company. My parents wouldn't show their ugly side to a stranger. I was waiting for her to let her know, I hope she doesn't have any plan.
I saw her coming down the stairs.
      "Hey"  I said
      "Hi? Lizz said probably surprised that I'm talking to her. Why is she always surprised
        "You got any plans today I ask hoping she doesn't
         "Why? Any problem
          "No, just wants you to come with me to pick the girls
         "Oh yeah! off course_ I answered glad that she wants me to accompany her to pick her girls in her parents home. It means she's trusting me and that's a big step for her
        "Okay good" she said get ready in the next two hours then
         "Okay" I answered.

*LIZZY'S POV*

         We were on our way to get the girls. I noticed that Lisa wasn't comfortable. She was holding the steering wheel so hard that her knuckles has turned white. She was sweating. I was wondering if it was because I'm with her.
        After hours of silent driving, we arrive in this Mansion. I couldn't stop admiring it. It was the most breathtaking house I have seen.
       WOW! you have a very nice home I commented but she ignored me
Are we going to stand here and look at the house or go take the kids? She said not waiting for my reply
      I followed her trying to keep up with her. She pressed the door bell. Few minutes later an old woman opened the door smiling widely at her which she returned with a hug.
         Welcome dear she said to us opening the door wider for us to come in.
         Good afternoon I said to the woman. The woman seemed surprised to see me with Lisa. She eyed Lisa smiling before enveloping me with hug. I returned it with awkwardness. I don't feel so good hugging strangers at first sight.
        Welcome dear she said after leaving me
        Immediately the girls came running to us. Oliva was the first, followed by Sonia. After hugging their mom, they came and hug me telling us how their holiday went.
         A man came out probably in his late sixties, I figured he's the father cos the kids called him grandpa. I greeted him but he didn't care to reply back. They took us in, A woman was sitting on chair not taking a glance at us. She was probably in her late fifties. She barely reply her daughter's greeting not to talk of mine.
           I was uncomfortable in the house, I could sense their disapproval towards me. The cold I was feeling has nothing to do with the weather. I regretted coming and that was when it got me, I'm supposed to go out with someone. It was already two and since I don't have her number which is totally my fault, I couldn't call her.
         Fuck I muttered without realizing that I actually said it loud.
        Excuse me? The woman said with a scowl looking towards me
Raising my eyeballs totally lost on what's going on
         "We don't use that word here in this house lady" she said totally disgusted with me. That was when I realized what happened
        Sorry ma'am I said. I needed to leave this house. My phone suddenly rang, looking at it, I saw the devil's daughter but I couldn't hate her now. I needed saving. excusing myself, I went out to answer
          What? I answered my annoyance rising again within me
          You sound so sexy when you talk like that
          Don't you have anything to do I asked getting frustrated over everything
        "I miss you, but mostly our fuck" this woman is seriously crazy, if you disagree tell me how can a sane person be acting like this.
        Okay, any other thing? I asked
        "You are no fun, Izzy babe, come on chill out"
         "Let's talk later, I have important stuffs to do". I cut the call not waiting for her to reply back.
        I tried going back but stoped when I had some serious arguement from where they were.
          This family is more crazier than mine. Stopping to hear what they got to say
           "I don't accept her and that is final"
          "Well  I don't need you accepting her cause the kids do, I do and my husband do" she said surprising the hell out of me
       I was smiling from ear to ear, I can't believe she standing up for me.
       "Why are you keeping her, cause she reminds you of you, huh?" This time it was her dad who spoke
        What does he mean by that, that I remind her of her. I was still trying to process everything when the kids suddenly came rushing down. Not wanting them to witness the drama going on, I made a silly noise indicating that the kids and I are here. They stopped immediately pretending they weren't arguing just moment ago
       "Actually, we have overstayed our welcome. I think we will head home now" Lisa said taking the kids and motioning for me to follow. We were about to step out when the woman spoke again      "We are not through with this". Not taking another glance on them, we stepped out heading towards home
        Now I understand why she got drunk the last time she visited them, cos right now I feel like drinking too.
