Shiori's Pov
Naruto charges forward to punch Gaara, but Gaara hits him first with his tail
"Ahh ughh" Naruto lands on the branch in front of us
Sasuke and I look at him worriedly
"Are okay Naruto?" I ask
"Yeah...Aughh, this guy" Naruto says as he stands back up
Naruto's Pov
I catch my breath
'This isn't gonna be easy as long as he stays like this'
I look at Sakura
'Maybe I should've let Shiori help me after all... No. She's clearly exhausted. I doubt she has a lot of Chakra left'
I look at Sasuke and Shiori
"I gotta save my friends" I say to myself as I turn my attention back at Gaara
"It's all up to me" I say
Gaara starts chuckling and laughing maniacally at m words
He looks at me seriously
"And that's exactly why you can't win" Gaara says
"Hah?"
"As long as you fight for the sake of others, you'll never advance beyond this level. Only one can remain undefeated and only he will feel what it's like to truly exist. Forget your friends and fight for yourself" Gaara says
"Your insane" I tell him
"Forget my friends?" I ball my hands into fists
"Trivial feelings like friendship and loyalty clouds your focus and you'll die" Gaara says
"Yeah yeah. Keep talking while you can. CAUSE I'M ABOUT TO SHUT YOU UP ONCE AND FOR ALL!" I declare, pointing at him
"Keep a cool head Naruto. Remember, think before you act" Shiori advices
"Ahh!" I take out a kunai and jump towards him
"Naruto!" Shiori calls
Gaara smirks
"You don't understand what real strength is" Gaara says
I do a flip, ready to strike him with my kunai. Gaara holds his head and his eyes widens. His tail shots up and hits me with it, I land face first on a branch
"Wh" I stand up and face him again
Gaara is holding his head and is groaning in pain, I look at him in fear. I gulp
"What's the matter?! Why don't you attack?! Don't you care what happens to your precious FRIENDS?!" Gaara says as he tightens his grip on Sakura
"Huh? SAKURA!" I yell
Sakura's face is twitching in pain. I look back at Gaara
"Let her go!" I demand
Shiori's Pov
"Naruto's just standing there" I say
"That's not like him. Why is he hesitating?" Sasuke says
I try slowly moving Sasuke off my legs, but he groans in pain so I stop
"I'm sorry my sweet" I say
"*Sigh* Looks like we're both stuck for a while" I sigh as I look worriedly at Naruto
"Can't you do the Shadow Clone Jutsu and have your clones help him?" Sasuke suggested
"Hmm..."
