Shiori's Pov
Sasuke is carrying Naruto as we make our way back to Sakura and Puppy-kun
"I'll carry Naruto and you carry Sakura" Sasuke says
"On it" I say
I bend down to pick up Sakura when...
"Two Ninjas are coming towards us" Puppy-kun says
"Huh?" We look at him
"There you guys are" says a male voice, familiar to both me and Sasuke
Two masked Ninjas appears before us. They take off their masks
We sigh in relief
"Brother...Sister" I say in a relieved whisper
"Thank goodness you two are alright, we were so worried" Elder sister says as she hugs me and Sasuke
"Alright. Let's go back to the village. We'll carry your friends back" Elder brother says
"Okay" Sasuke and I nod
Elder brother and elder sister picks up Naruto and Sakura
My sister is carrying Sakura on her back and my brother is carrying Naruto on his back
"Let's go" brother looks back at us
"Right" We say
My elder siblings jump off. Puppy-kun, Sasuke, and I follow after them
"How are things back at the village?" I ask
"Every woman and child have been safely evacuated" sister says
"We fought off most of the enemy Ninjas, so everything is fine for the most part...but..." Elder brother adds
The two of them goes silent and are sadly looking down on their feet
Sasuke, Puppy-kun, and I look at each other and back at my siblings
"But what?" Sasuke asks
They look at each other then at us with sad and serious gazes
"You see..." Elder brother starts
They slowly explain what happened back at the village and Lord Third's unfortunate fate
Our eyes widens. We were speechless. For the rest of the way back to the village, we stay in silence
-TIMESKIP-
Sasuke and I are walking side by side, arm in arm. We're both dressed for the funeral. We meet up with Naruto and Sakura, who are waiting for us
We reach were the funeral is being held, we stand slightly away from Naruto and Sakura. As we stand, it starts raining
"We are gathered here to remember and honor not only the Third Hokage but all those who sacrificed themselves in this battle so that our village would survive"
I look down sadly, Sasuke grabs my hand
"It's alright" he whispers comfortingly
"Sasuke" I say in a whisper
I slowly wrap my arms around him, finding comfort in his warmth
"They're lining up to place the flowers" I say as I look at the others
"Want to do it together?" Sasuke asks
"Can we?" I say
"Of course, come on" Sasuke says as he pulls me by the hand
We stand in line along with the other Genin, waiting for our turn
Each of the others in front of us all take their turns and place the flowers they hold. It's finally our turn. I remember the times when we were young kids, Lord Hokage would always tease me and Sasuke and ruffle our hairs
'It was really nice memories. Lord Hokage was always so nice to us'
Sasuke and I place each of the flowers we hold at the same time. We walk back to where we were standing before. Sasuke cups my face woth his hands
"You know I like it better when you smile, right? So will you smile for me?" Sasuke asks as he shows me one of his rare smiles
"*Giggle* You're so silly" I laugh a little and smile at him
"That's my girl" he says
My heart beats faster from his sweetness
I look up at the sky and notice something
"Look Sasuke. The rain has stopped" I tell him
He looks up as well
"Yeah, you're right" he says
The sun is visible again and it's shining bright
We look back at each other and share affectionate smiles
Sakura's Pov
The funeral is over. I meet up with Kakashi Sensei, Sasuke, and Shiori. We're just waiting for Naruto, who's talking to Iruka Sensei
"Bye Shiori"
"See you around Shiori"
The people who are walking passed us all greets Shiori and waves. Villagers, Ninjas, children, and classmates from the academy, you name it
'I forgot how popular Shiori is'
"Bye" Shiori smiles at each one of them
"Bye Sasuke, bye Shiori"
"Hang out with us sometime you two"
Girls who were in the same class as us back at our time at the academy waves at us with blushing cheeks when looking at Sasuke
"Well aren't you two popular" Kakashi Sensei teases
"...Yeah" I nod in agreement
"We're used to it" Shiori says
"This is our everyday life whether we like it or not" Sasuke adds
They say reply like it's no big deal
'Right. They're in a whole other league in all ways possible. They're the power couple, the ideal couple. And yet here I am, still wanting to be with Sasuke and be more than friends'
I enviously look at Shiori as Sasuke has her arm around her shoulders and her snuggling close to him. Here I am, wishing I'm her in Sasuke's heart
'Shiori is my precious friend. But I can't help what I feel about Sasuke. I'm really sorry for feeling this way, Shiori. I'm a terrible friend, aren't I? I'm sorry. But I can't give up on Sasuke'
"Bye Iruka Sensei. See you later" Naruto waves to Iruka Sensei
"Alright" Iruka Sensei replies
Naruto runs towards us, grinning happily
