Kawaki’s POV
I went to see Sumire. I was quiet nervous because I didn’t see her in a long time. I knocked on the door for the first time.
"Come in!" said a nurse. I thought she’ll be there alone, but I went in.
"Who are you?" asked the nurse.
"K-Kawaki…" said Sumire.
"Oh, you are awake! That’s truly a miracle, you were unconscious."
"What?!" I asked.
"Don’t worry, she was just shocked after everything that happened."
"Okay," I said.
"Well, I’ll leave you alone now. If you need something, Sumire-chan, just call me and I’ll immediately come!" she said seriously and left.
"She’s really nice,"said Sumire. I sat beside her bed.
"Not like you," I said. She smiled.
"What happened? I don’t remember…"
"Well, I wasn’t there, but you are lucky to live. That bastard tried to kill you all, but Naruto destroyed his plans." I clenched my fists.
"What’s wrong?" she asked.
"I’m just angry I wasn’t there."
"That’s all right, you’d just get yourself killed."
"So you think I’m weak?"
"No, no, that’s not what I mean. That man was dangerous and I’d hate to see him hurt you."
"I see…" There was a weird silence.
"W-What about others? Mom and Himawari-chan."
"Wait, mom?"
"She was taking care of me a lot when you were gone. She’s as nice as my biological mother." She smiled. She really takes them as her family.
"What about Boruto? Do you take him as your brother?"
"Sure! But I heard he changed…"
"Yeah, but he’s back again. What a jerk." She laughed.
"I see you still didn’t get along."
"Hmmph."
"Sumire, I think I should tell you something."
"What?" she asked.
"I was thinking a lot right now… About us… Well, just that I accept your feelings."
"M-my feelings?!"
"That time on the roof… When you confessed to me… I accept it." She smirked.
"I think I don’t understand. Can you be more specific?"
"You got it, I think I love you, Sumire. I was thinking of you all the time and was very worried about you."
"That’s all I wanted to hear!" She hugged me.
"You know, I was afraid you like that Eida."
"That b*tch? Never. But I found out my first friend is in love with her."
"B-Boruto-kun?"
"No, Code. I thought he died, so I didn’t tell you about him. He was with me when Jigen captured me."
"I see. I’d like to meet him then!"
"I don’t know, he’s in USA now."
