Kawaki’s POV
Sumire was acting weirdly. Whenever I wanted to go out, she stopped that something could happen to me. I asked her what does that mean, but she didn’t want to tell me the details.
I still went out because who would pay the rent. But after work I went to visit Boruto. He’s still my brother and best friend I can talk to. I would talk to Code, but he’s now too happy with that chick. I’m sure I would just bother him. I stood in front of their house waiting for Boruto.
"Hey, what’s up, Kawaki? You know if you have problems with money, you can stay here if you want."
"That’s not it, Boruto, but thank you."
"Huh? Than what is it-ttebasa?"
"Sumire is acting weirdly…"
Boruto wasn’t surprised. Maybe he knows something more.
"When you talk about it, I remember dad told me she visited her father not long time ago. He wasn’t there with her, but when she was leaving, she was scared. Plus her father had some business with your biological father. Dad told me this also."
"Wait… really? She didn’t tell me this!"
"Don’t take it badly, maybe she couldn’t tell you."
"She still could tell me, I would protect her."
"That’s nice, but what if you couldn’t? Maybe her father hides something. Dad thinks so too, so he’s making some research on him, but he doesn’t have much time right now, ya know."
"Yeah, he has to be more careful of your mom when she’s pregnant, right?"
"Yeah, he even hired some bodyguards to protect her. The tragedy can’t be repeated."
"It can happen if you won’t be yourself again."
"Yeah, but Amado is dead. What could I do?"
"I don’t know, help someone way stronger? You know, Amado didn’t tell you everything. Jigen hid other forces behind his past. I think their name was Otshutsuki."
"Othutsuki?! Like Toneri who was obsessed with my mom?!"
"Yeah. But I don’t know anything more. Jigen was pretty secretive. I just heard their names."
"I see, do you think it’ll be another issue for my dad? Or…"
"Or?"
"What if they are the people Sumire’s father is threating you with?"
"No way! They are way stronger than that asshole! Why would they help such a loser?"
"I know, but it’s weird my dad can’t find anything about them. Not even uncle Itachi and Shisui who are experts on this. Maybe they are just using him to break our forces. If FBI was down, no one else would protect the people. Policemen are good for nothing, they wouldn’t do a sh*t."
"You have a point, why didn’t Naruto find them yet? You should talk to Toneri, maybe he knows something more."
"Sure thing-ttebasa, I’ll also talk to Sarada about this."
"Yeah, maybe she’ll be useful."
"Useful? Without her I would be nothing."
"All right, chill. I feel the same way about Sumire."
"Just joking, man. Sarada is smarter than me, so she can come up with something."
"Agreed, well, Boruto, it was nice to talk to you, but I have to go so Sumire isn’t paranoid. Maybe you could visit us to calm her down a little."
"Sure thing! I’ll bring Sarada with me."
"Good. I’ll go, so see ya later."
"Later-ttebasa!"
I went home, but I noticed someone following me again. When I turned around, I saw just my shadow. Then I turned back, it was Sumire.
"Sumire! You scared me, don’t do this to me!"
"Why did you visit Boruto?"
"I just needed to talk to someone…" She looked sad.
"I understand that, but what if something happened to you two?"
"They wouldn’t go that far… Kill the son of the leader of FBI."
"Yeah, you are right. I’m just worried about you."
"Maybe you should visit Sarada and talk to her about it. She’s a girl, so maybe she would understand you more."
"You are wrong, the only one who felt the same pain as me is you, Kawaki." She leaned into my arms. I blushed. We returned home.
