"dad?!"

"hey soob."

soobin got out the car and engulfed his father in a tight hug. daniel however sat confused in the passengers seat. he had guessed the police officer was his father after hearing soobin yell "dad" which was a word he had learned today.

"you're so tall! i never thought you'd surpass me in height. anyway who is this guy? a friend?" mr choi said as he dipped to see into the car, smiling and waving at daniel. daniel returned the wave and got out the car, going to stand next to soobin.

"dad this is daniel. daniel this is my dad." soobin introduced them, grinning widely.

"babe we're not even dating yet and i'm already meeting your dad. you sure about this?"

"woah hold up. did he just call you babe? while you're not dating?" his dad asked, shocked and amused.

"you know english?" soobin was now the one shocked. "yeah! i was a police officer in canada for eight years. i went by stephen over there." his father exclaimed with excitement.

while soobin and his father chatted, daniel tried to understand what they were saying despite only having 3 hours of knowledge of the language.

he decided to stop bothering to try and understand and just enjoy watching his crush catch up with his father. the smile soobin was giving his dad was one daniel had only seen whenever the younger looked at him, especially when they met for the first time in person.

"well i should let you two get back to what you were doing. here's my number and tell your mom i said hi." mr choi spoke, handing over a slip of paper with his number on it. "i don't think mom will like knowing you're back and talking to me but i'll try."

the two hugged one last time and the two teens watched soobins dad get in his patrol car and drive off.

"i'm sorry for ignoring you junie. i should probably take you home now." soobin spoke apologetically, getting into the car along with the elder.

"nah it's okay. i kinda enjoyed watching you talk to your dad. do you not see him as often?" daniel asked, looking over at soobin. the driver pursed his lips, turning a corner.

"i haven't seen my dad since i was six when my parents got a divorce. i always loved my dad a bit more than my mom but after they divorced, my mom kept telling how much of a bad guy he was and that they only stayed together because of me. i never believed any of them but the court didn't allow him any custody of me because of the lies." soobin explained, a frown on his face. daniel was starting to feel bad and regret asking after seeing the sad look on the youngers face.

"i- i'm sorry. i didn't mean to make you upset." daniel said as he grabbed soobins hand. luckily they had already arrived at the elders apartment complex.

"no it's fine. you should head in now. i'll uh see you tomorrow."

soobin leaned over the elder to open the door for him, mainly to get him out as fast as possible before his tears started to fall, but all that failed when daniel forced the younger to look at him by cupping his face.

soobin looked into daniels eyes before accidentally glancing down at the males plump lips. daniel noticed this and started to lean in slowly before planting his lips onto the others. soobin froze and clasped his eyes shut tight. he could feel daniel laugh against his lips before pulling away, soobin reopening his eyes with a red face.

"was that your first kiss?" the elder asked with a grin and red cheeks. soobin nodded, sitting up straight to hide his reddened face. "maybe i should tutor on your firsts then." daniel flirted with a wink, laughing as he held his sore arm that was just slapped repeatedly by the taller.

daniel got out of the car after giving soobin one last kiss and went inside the building after making sure the younger would message him when he gets home. he rode the elevator to his floor and got off, cursing once he realised his phone was out of battery.

he quickly got inside to put it on charge while he got ready to take a shower.

when he got in the shower, he couldn't contain his excitement as he thought back to the kiss, making weird noises as he remembered how cute the younger looked with his flushed chubby bunny like cheeks and his cute, soft, pouty lips.

as cheesy as it sounds, he couldn't believe how perfect soobin was and thought that it was fate that brought them two together, even if he hated the idea of being pen pals at first.

thirty minutes into his shower, with his hair still soapy, he heard his phone ring from the bedroom. "fuck." he cursed as he quickly rinsed and got out, wrapping the towel around himself before rushing to catch the call.

"hello?"

"c-can you let me i-in?"

it was soobin.

"yeah o-of course. stay there." daniel spoke as he quickly got dressed. "thanks." soobin replied before hanging up.

daniel quickly went to the front door and opened it to see a puffy eyed and tear stained cheeked soobin.

"oh my god soob what happened?" he asked worriedly as he pulled the younger inside and shut the door, sitting on the couch with his arm around the other to comfort him.

"m-m-my mom h-hit me." soobin choked out with a sob, tears falling continuously. "what the fuck? why? are you okay?" daniel asked, wiping the boys tears that wouldn't stop.

"i-i told her about d-d-dad and s-she just lost it a-a-and started yelling at m-me so i yelled back and sh-" soobin stopped talking to take a deep breath before continuing. "she hit m-me across the face." he got out, holding the cheek that she had slapped which was also the cheek hyemi had scratched.

daniel sighed. it hurt his heart to see soobin crying like this, and knowing it was because of the males own mother was not helping at all.

"bin do you want to spend the night? you could even stay off tomorrow and that dick and i will manage by ourselves during class, hmm?" soobin shook his head, wiping his tears with the sleeve of the cardigan daniel gave him. "i-i can't stay off. a-a-and i have work tomorrow. hongjoong only allows me to t-take a few days off since i just started n-not long ago." he stuttered, turning off his phone right after it started ringing. daniel had saw that the caller was his mother.

"okay but you're staying here. we're gonna have pizza, watch movies, and cuddle in bed because you deserve happiness." daniel proposed, standing up and bringing out his phone to order pizza.

"y-you don't have to do that. i'll probably just shower and sleep on the couch. i feel pretty tired after c-crying." soobin tried to protest bur failed miserably. "nope." daniel spoke, shaking his head. "there's no way in hell am i ever letting my baby sleep on the couch. shower is to the right and pick anything from my wardrobe. i'm gonna pop to the shops and pick up some drinks." daniel announced as he put on his shoes, stuffing his wallet into his sweatpant pocket.

soobin just nodded as he picked at the skin around his fingernails awkwardly. daniel smiled at his cuteness before walking towards him and leaned down to give him a quick peck before heading out, leaving a very flush faced soobin behind.
