POV: Luka

I walked into the lobby and set my eyes on the elevators towards the back of the room. Today had been a long day and all I wanted to do was go to bed.

As I passed the concierge at the front desk, I raised my hand in a silent greeting. He waved back to me and I noticed it was someone new. He had a friendly face with dark hair and dark eyes, but the smile he sent me didn't quite fit his face. As if that friendly nature wasn't natural at all and something he worked hard to exude.

The dinging sound that signaled the arrival of the elevator distracted me from my thoughts and I walked inside, leaving the concierge with the strange smile behind.

When I finally exited into the foyer of our apartment, I was surprised at how quiet it was. I kicked off my shoes and made my way further inside.

"Guys?", I called out loudly.

Nothing but silence greeted me, but the note left on the fridge in Colt's handwriting caught my attention.

We wanted beer and wings and you were taking too long. Charge your phone dumbass.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and sure enough, the ominous low battery appeared. Balling up the note, I walked over to the recycling bin and threw it inside. The silence of the apartment suddenly felt comfortable and I was excited to have a quiet night on my own.

I made my way up to my bedroom and collapsed on the mattress spread eagle.

Shit. My phone.

I forced myself to get up and plug my phone into the charger that rested on my nightstand. My backpack sat on the floor in front of me. Taunting me with its contents and reminding me that as much as I wanted to sleep I had so much work to do.

The buzzing of my phone as it powered back up broke up the nonexistent staring contest I was having with my homework and I leaned back on the headboard to check my messages. Three were from Greyson asking me where I was.

One from Colt telling me they would leave without me if I wasn't back in ten minutes. Spoiler alert, they left without me.

The last two were from Lark. It was a selfie she had taken sitting on her bed with books spread out around her. She had followed it up with a message that asked me if I was drowning in homework too.

Thanksgiving break was in a week and all the professors seemed to be piling on the work in preparation for the weeklong break.

Her selfie brought a smile to my face until something in the background caught my eye. The drawer on her nightstand was slightly open allowing me to see what was inside. A light pink vibrator was clearly on display. Something told me she hadn't meant to leave that drawer open in her picture.

I was awake now.

An idea bounced around in my head and I decided to act on it before I could talk myself out of it. I picked up my phone and dialed her number.
