"Can I ask a question?"
"Wah when was the last time you've asked me that?" Renjun gave Jisung a skeptical look, eyeing the boy who stood close to him, weary of those around him. "Is it dumb?"
"No I - you we're nineteen when you met Jaein right?" Jisung had a lot of soulmate related questions on his mind, not only because he has encountered his, but also because his friend's new relationship seemed off.
"In korean age, yeah." Renjun replied.
"That's considered young to like bond or whatever right?" Jisung asked softly, not wanting the others to know he was asking.
"Yeah it's rare, it would usually happen at like between at like...twenty to thirty if I'm not wrong." Renjun thought back.
"Skin to skin contact right?"
Renjun furrowed his brows. "Yeah...Are you still worried about the whole Chenle and Jasmine thing?"
"No I was just curious." Jisung shook his head, earning a chuckle from the elder. He was curious as to what would happen when he does bond with Mirae, however he knew he couldn't risk anything seeing as he was an idol, and she deserves to live normally for as long as she can.
He hasn't seen her in a while due to being so busy, but the two do message and call everyday. Jisung had found himself looking forward to talking to her even though he knew it was an act for her. He thought that maybe it was because he didn't have any friends outside of nct. However, on top of all that he had been finding it very easy to miss her. He knew Jeno was right in what he said, Jisung will fall for Mirae, sooner or later.
But they are soulmates, it's basically bound to happen.
"Wait." Renjun stopped, as if he had put more thought into it. "Are you thinking that you and Mirae could be soulmates because they are?"
Jisung's eyes wondered the room, panicking slightly at the assumption. "No."
"You DO!" Renjun teased, a hearty laugh coming out of him as he pointed at the kid. "I mean childhood enemies to lovers? Sounds like fate to me."
"I mean she left to Dubai, came back, and we met and this whole thing happened. That's a little bit too obvious right? Or am I just reading into things?" Jisung explained his thoughts with his gestures, Renjun still having the same teasing smile on his face.
"No you're not overthinking, it does seem like some shit the universe would pull." He cleared up, though Jisung had already known. "But you guys haven't bonded yet, and I don't care what Jeno or Jaemin says, you know when you do. They probably bonded in their sleep or something who the heck knows."
"Mirae might be a little young for it then maybe." It wasn't a lie, not that he knew of. But he just needed to find a reasoning that would make sense for Renjun.
