"I think I was being too cheesy." Jisung sighed as he threw the pillow over his face, screaming into it in frustration as Jeno and Jaemin simply watched. "She didn't even looked swayed in the slightest, like surely a confession like that will make your heart beat faster or something but she just nodded as if I was giving her a lecture."
"I think you we're genuinely being too cheesy, Mirae seems like the kind of girl who prefers something - unique - y'know." Jaemin advised as he sat on the boy's bed, Jeno leaning across from them on the comfy gaming chair, an eyebrow lifted.
"What did she even say as a response?" Jeno asked.
"She said, word for word; I'd be honest and say that I'm genuinely not ready to be in a proper relationship yet." Jisung pouted sadly as Jaemin patted his side, comforting him as his eyes began to well. "Not even like 'but if I did want to be in a relationship it'll be you.'"
"Well yeah it should be obvious, she didn't even need to say it, you're literally her soulmate." Jeno reminded.
"She barely even sees me as one." Jisung groaned.
"If she's not ready for a relationship then she's not ready for a relationship, end of story. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you or that she doesn't like you. Like you said, she just broke up with someone so maybe she wants to enjoy being single for a while." Jeno explained fully, Jisung sensing an annoyance in Jeno's voice as he nodded, sitting up on his bed.
"I respect that, her ex was horrible from what I can tell. But now I just wished I hadn't said anything, things might be awkward now." Jisung frowned sadly. He was rejected, and he was upset by it, but at the end of the day it was Mirae's choice. But he will still cry over it, he still felt a crushing feeling in his chest despite knowing that he was going to end up with her anyways.
"Why don't you just tell everyone the truth, I mean I know and Jeno knows, it won't be long before Renjun knows, Mark and Haechan will be too busy to care anyways. Then theres Chenle." Jaemin brought up, remembering the drama that happened not too long ago, the reason why Jisung and Mirae fought in the first place.
"Yeah...no." Jisung had no intension of telling the truth, ever. He hoped that he could continue to date Mirae properly making a smooth transition from fake to real dating, therefore nobody needs to know the truth.
"Yeah well lies was what brought you into this mess." Jeno pointed out. "It'll just get messier."
"Let it then, these past few weeks have been the most interesting weeks of my life." Jisung smiled softly, the image of Mirae forming in his head as the two weaved through lies, from the fake smiles to the very real hand holding, and the transporting kiss that floats through his mind every once in a while. "Everything has been so...thrilling." He said as he smiled into the distance whilst Jeno and Jaemin eyed each other in concern for the boy.
