!!TW!! || swearing

You and Nathan arrive to school one day to find it deserted. The bus had come a bit late, yes, but there would usually be a few freshmen wandering the halls when you come. Today, there was not a single student or staff member to be seen.

You turned to Nathan. "Is today a holiday?"

"I don't think so, no." You see his misty eyes gaze over the empty corridors curiously.

The both of you place your bags in your lockers and take out the necessary materials needed for the next two classes. You then walk past the auditorium to get to first period and hear voices coming from the inside.

You glance at Nathan to see if he had heard, and he meets your gaze. He reaches for the handle and opened the door.

Inside was a scene that reminded you of your fist day, but more packed, for the whole school was seated inside. The big room quiets, most everyone turning to see who just came through the door. You feel Nathan shift uncomfortably under all the stares.

Your eyes wander towards the front of the room, where the stage was. On the stage was the principal, and beside him sat a familiar figure.

A jolt ran through your spine.

What was he doing here?!

Once the teachers dismissed the juniors from the auditorium to go to class, you grab Nathan's hand and dragged him to Mr. Hines' classroom.  You wanted to put as much distance from him as much as possible.

You both sit down in class and wait for the teacher, Nathan occasionally letting out puffs of air in bewilderment. The silence didn't last for long though.

You heard them stampeding in the hallway, and the door bursts open; a mob of girls congregating together, squealing and pushing at eachother; there were more students at the door, looking in in awe, and Mr. Hines was desperately trying to disperse of the crowd.

Ah, shit. It seems like your plans to stay away were futile, since he literally came to you.

"SIT. DOWN," Mr. Hines finally snaps. The crowd stops and goes their separate ways immediately- some out the door, off to their class, some to their seats in the classroom. In the middle of the storm was the last person you wanted to see.

Finnegan Celleir. Your co-star from the Metropolis trilogy.

You didn't spite him; it was just that he might blow your cover here at school. You and Fin were on good terms, and you text each other regularly because that's what good friends do. You had good times when you two were on set when filming for the movies, and, he was your first long-term friend.

You watched as Finn surveyed the classroom. He had his usual stance- slouched posture with his hands in his pockets. You rolled your eyes. At least he had the decency to wear simple clothing instead of the  gaudy designer clothes he insists on buying.

"Mr. Celleir," Mr. Hines cleared his throat. "I am your homeroom teacher! My name is Mr. Hines, and I teach World History. Now, where would you like to sit?"

Please don't move seats, please don't move seats, you prayed.

"I'll take that one right there." He pointed at the seat infront of you and you let out a sigh of relief. The girl at said table, however, had to muffle a squeal as Finn came to sit next to her.

Class continued normally, until the girl beside Finn started bugging him.

"Hey, Finn," she whispered. "I'm Kelly, and I'm a big fan off yours." She batted her eyelashes.

"Oh, thank you," Finn said politely.

"Would you like to sit with me and my friends at lunch?" She put her hand over her mask and giggled. "Of course, you can if you want to, but you should, because you seem like the type that hangs out with cool people."

"Uh, I'll think about it," was all he said, looking as if he had made a mistake.

"Well, I think you will get along with-" she started before getting cut off by Nathan.

"Hey, man," he lightly tapped Finn's shoulder. Finn turned to face him. "I'd just like to say that you inspired me to try doing what you do. So thanks."

Finn smiled. "It's  no problem, man-  I'm just glad I could help." He glanced at Kelly, who had shut up, and lowered his mask then whispered, "Thank you."

Nathan nodded in acknowledgement and Finn turned in his seat to listen to Mr. Hines.

You nudged Nathan with your elbow. "Who knew you were sympathetic?"

"I am offended," he gasped, placing his hand on his chest in mock surprise. Then he chuckled and shoved you back.

"Last one to the tree has to give a bit of their lunch," Nathan poked you then sprinted to the magnolia tree. You yelped then ran after him, but by the time you were halfway to the tree, he had already sat on the twinning swings.

"That's not fair," you whined as you finally got under the cool shade of the magnolia.

He laughed, a sound that made your stomach flutter. You silently smiled to yourself as you pulled out a bit of your lunch. You took some homemade bread mother had made yesterday and tossed it to him.

"Ooh, thank you." He placed it in his lunchbox to eat later.

"Why don't you ever eat at lunchtime?" You ask, putting a spoonful of food in your mouth.

He only shrugged and said his normal mealtime doesn't match up with the school lunchtime. Actually, now that you think about it, you had never seen him eat, and-

I've never seen his face.

You look at him curiously. Never once have you seen what was under his gray mask. "Hey," you detangled your hand from the rope of your swing to mess with Nathan's. "Eat."

"No," he said swinging wildly from the broken momentum of the swing.

"Eat. Or I will make you."

He raised his eyebrows. "Oh, yeah? I'd like to see you try."

You got up from your swing and grabbed Nathan's legs to stop him from kicking, then you pulled him from the swing seat, making him fall butt-first to the ground.

"Heyy," he complained as you snatched his lunch from the ground. You sat on his calves to prevent him from moving and you held up the bread you gave him to his mouth.

"Eat, because it will go stale if you leave it in there."

He looks at you, then at the piece of loaf, which you were poking his mask with.

He sighs, then reaches for his mask to pull down.

Then-

"Excuse me?"
