Everyone knows Blue can't handle sugar. It was as if the poor skel was intolerant to it, regarding how cruddy he felt once the initial burst of energy wore off when he ate just the slightest bit too much. So, if the DreamTale twins were modeled after him, it would make sense for them to have a similar issue. This was the case for Nightmare.
Even as a kid, Nightmare wasn't too fond of sweets. Dream, on the other hand, loved them, and still did after all those centuries, but... they were too much for the elder twin.
Unfortunately, the gang didn't know this, so Nightmare has no idea what to do when they make him a cake for his birthday.
