Dream and Ink fuse to experiment and practice for battle with Nightmare, but they can't get unstuck. This leaves them dealing with their joint magic all of the time.
One day, Ink tells Dream he has to meet up with a specific Creator, and Dream eventually agrees. He's wanted to see Ink aid the Creators for a long time now.
This Creator is X!Gaster.
But, to Ink, something doesn't feel right this time.
See, due to Ink's paints and Dream's intense empathy fusing, they can see auras as colors. X!Gaster's are dark, malicious, self-centered blacks, dark violets, and indigos.
The negativity and shock sucker-punch the fusion in the stomach, and they double over and retch. They're betrayed, they're scared, they're weak, they're angry, they're shocked, they're sick, so sick-
He's a threat, Ink!

We have to leave, our body can't take this any longer!
He was going to damage all I've sworn to protect...
Ink!! Listen to me! We need to leave before we get seriously hurt!
