summary : thirteen-year-old aeryn was living in a world that was fixing society after the government disposed of all the automatons and banned their possession and creation after many began to malfunction and attack humans.
with his hyper-spectral eyes and mechanical movements, the very thing she'd thought she would never see in her lifetime was right there, leaning against the wall, alone and neglected. after having the trouble of taking it home and convincing her older brother to let her keep the automaton, she realised that maybe two beating hearts weren't always required when it came to love.
