Part 69 - Scientist Reader x SCP-096

Your POV:
Most of the times when a containment breach happens, only our personel is trying to run away. This time, it was different, and I was running in a small group made out of one D-class, two scientists including me, one guard, SCP-053, SCP-105 and SCP-953. How is that possible that we haven't killed one another yet? It is simple, we all wanted to run away from something far worse.

053: Okay, now when we ran away from that thing can you tell me, what was that?!

D-class: I have no fucking clue, it looked like an alien, and it was even more disgusting than 682!

Scientist: It wasn't that ugly bro, and nobody is more disgusting than 682.

953: We could release him and see what happens, maybe he will eat those things.

D-class: Wait, there is more than one?!

953: I think there is three of them.

You: Four, not three.

105: Great, that's even better!

053: But it doesn't answer my question, what was that?!

Scientist: An unsuccessful experiment with SCP-914. We tried to upgrade a copy of the game "Alien:Isolation" on a very fine setting, but we didn't expect that to happen! We wanted to get a new game, maybe a sequel with more gameplay but we got this!

953: Upgrading a game about aliens on a very fine setting, I wonder what could go wrong...

Scientist: You are not helping! It is not our fault!

953: Yes it is your fault you idiot! You got a decent brain which you should use before doing anything!

You: I have to agree with her. It is your fault Thomas, you knew what could happen after the incident with "Saiko no Sutoka".

Scientist: ... Okay, fine, we shouldn't have done that, are you happy now?!

105: No, because thanks to you we are most likely going to die!

Guard: All of you shut up and lets think! I don't know why, but this thing is resistant to bullets, and it has acid in its veins instead of blood. The only thing that makes it run away is fire, and because of that we should try and find few flamethrowers as soon as pos...

Before he could finish his sentence, we heard a Xenomorph running after us, so without hesitation the guard shot D-class' legs and left him behind.

D-class: Why?!

Guard: Sorry bro, we need to escape!

D-class: You son of a...

Before he could finish his sentence, he got attacked by the alien, while we managed to run away. However, this wasn't the end of our problems, because after few second we heard another alien landing behind us. We began running even faster and after some time we split up into three different groups. I was in a group with the guard, Thomas ran away with Iris while 953 went into the third path with 053 on her hands.

As you can guess, the Xenomorph decided to run after me and that guard, but before he managed to catch me, the guard jumped at him and screamed to me:

Guard: Find a safe place to hide and survive this!

While I was running, I heard his gunshots which unfortunataly didn't do anything to that beast, but his sacrifice bought me enough time to escape. But not for long, because few seconds later another Xenomorph jumped from the ventilation in front of me. I looked around and saw a cell of SCP-096. Without any hesitation I opened his cell and jumped inside without looking at his face.

Because I couldn't see anything, almost immidiately I fell at 096, and prepared myself for the worst. However, before the alien managed to catch me, I felt Shy Guy standing up and attacking the Xenomorph. I crawled further away from them while 096's screams mixed with alien's.

After few seconds, I felt something burning at my arm, which made me open my eyes for a moment and hiss in pain. Immidiately I checked the source of pain and found some acid on my skin. I took of my coat and tried to clean the wound from the acid with it.

It worked, but thanks to that I had a nasty wound which hurt like hell. I forced myself to look up and saw 096 standing over alien's corpse and cleaning his wounds from the acid. He looked back which made me accidentally look at his face. I immidiately hid my face in my hands and prepared myself for becoming his next target, but instead of that, I felt his arms around me.

I didn't know what to do, especially when I felt him hugging me instead of turning me into bloody pieces, but after short period of time I felt him say:

096: Do not worry... Everything will be fine... They are not going to hurt you.

I hugged him back and began crying. I was confused, scared, relieved, happy and sad at the same time, and I had no idea which feeling is the correct one.

Suddenly, I heard another two of them enter the cell. I opened my eyes and saw them look at their brother's body, while 096 began approaching them and said:

096: You guys are going to meet his fate in few seconds...

Aliens made two steps back and began hissing at 096, but it didn't stop him from attacking one of them and making the other one run away in fear. I saw how Shy Guy was throwing the Xenomorph across the entire containment cell before he finally died and released acid on the entire floor. It was two Xenomorphs less to deal with, but then we heard an announcement:

Intercom: Attention all personel! We have some good news! Our MTFs managed to eliminate one of the Xenomorphs with micro HIDs, granades and constant fire from machine guns, which means that only three of them are still in the facility! Don't be afraid, we are going to save all of you! Currently we have no casualities in SCPs, three dead guards, four dead scientists and seven dead class Ds. I swear, we lost too many people in such a simple containment breach, don't make these statistics even higher, I beg you...

Shy guy looked at me and said:

096: It means that only one more is remaining, because two of them are lying in here.

You: And it is the one that ran away from you.

096: He won't come back to this cell, but he won't hesitate to kill people outside of it.

You: This may sound stupid, but can I stay in this cell before all of that is over?

096: Of course, I will not let you die.

Having said that he approached me and gave me a kiss on a forehead. I sat on the floor and waited. It was matter of time before they kill him, and in here, I knew I will be safe.
