Closer to heaven

Chapter one

"Bonnie?" Rain shouted terrified as she was walking through the forest. Everything looked more blue and dull she didn't know what was going on as she walked closer she noticed a raven haired male "Damon?"

"Rain? what the hell are you doing here?" Bonnie asked in Panic. How was she going to get back?

"i um i don't know i was in my house when this person came in and did something; i woke up but something was different and it was like i was drawn to here" Rain explained confused and scared

"Damon" Bonnie said sadly "what are we going to do?" she asked, hoping he had some crazy idea that would get them out of this

"i don't know" he said emotionlessly. All of a sudden wind blew past them knocking Rain to the floor but not taking her up to the sky like the others

"wait" Bonnie said pausing a minute "how the hell are you here, your not apart of the supernatural" Bonnie looked baffled

"the what?" Rain looked at her confused "are we-" she said pausing for a minute "are we going to die?" she asked in an almost whisper

"maybe" Damon said and Bonnie looked at him angrily "what? she deserved to know" Damon defended

"what?" Rain said tears falling from her face "i need to say bye to my parents" Rain said about to run back but Damon sped in front of her

"no" he stated and she looked at him confused and he almost weakened at the tears that shone in her big brown eyes "come here" he said embracing her, she sobbed into his shoulder and after a couple of seconds she pulled away "I need to see Elena" he said before dashing off to see her

"Bonnie what's going on?" Rain asked

"i uh its a really long story but, um, the story's of Vampire's, Witches, Werewolf's and other things are true" and Rain gave her a disbelief look "I'm being serious, I was a Witch"

Rain scrunched her eyebrows together "was?"

"yeah, i died a while back during summer, before we, you guys, went to collage" Bonnie explained and Rain's mouth hung open and pulled her into a hug

"I'm so sorry" Rain whispered in her ear

"its fine you didn't know, anyways some more stuff happened and again long story but i got turned into the anchor for the other side" Bonnie said and again Rain pulled her eyebrows together "its a supernatural dimension where the spirts of dead supernatural beings roam or we just call them ghosts" Bonnie explained and Rain nodded

"who else knows?" Rain asked tucking some of her brown hair, which had blond highlights in, behind her ear

Bonnie shifted nervously as Rain was the only one out of all her friends that didn't know about the supernatural world "i uh" Bonnie cleared her throat "everyone else" Bonnie said anxious for her response, Rain out of all of them was the kindest, she got along with everyone.

Rain's eye's widen "what!" she exclaimed "are you kidding? for how long?!" she asked angrily

"since around junior year" Bonnie said and Rain's mouth hung open and a look of hurt flashed on her face "its not because we didn't trust you, its just that we didn't want you caught up in this world, we have been through so much and-"

"and you didn't want me hurt" Rain said finishing her sentence "but i didn't even know you died" Rain said with hurt still on her face

"i know, i know and I'm sorry, i really am" Bonnie said with sadness in her eyes

"its okay but urm if we are really going to die, what about Jeremy?" Rain asked and tears started to spill out of Bonnie's eye's at the thought of leaving him

"can, can i go and make a phone call?" Bonnie asked and Rain nodded. Bonnie walked more into the forest and called Jeremy while Damon came back with a sad look

"Elena?" Rain asked and he nodded "its going to be okay and plus if i have to die with anyone by my side I'm happy its you and Bon Bon" Rain said and Damon chuckled

"I'm sorry you didn't get to say goodbye to your parents" Damon apologised with a guilty look but Rain smiled softly and gave him a nod and was about to say something but then heard shouting and they both turned more to the Salvatore tomb

"what's going on?" Tyler asked confused to as why Jeremy was running to them screaming Bonnie. Elena, Caroline, Alaric, Stefan and Elena and turned towards him with confusion and panic

suddenly it got really windy and Damon grabbed Rain's hand and walked over to Bonnie and Rain also held hands with her. the three of them stood looking into the forest

"This place is going down, isn't it?" Damon asked already knowing the answer

"it is" Bonnie replied and rain gripped onto their hands a little tighter

"I'm sure there are a million people we'd both rather be with right now" Bonnie said giving him a small smile

"couple thousand at most" Damon joked "well except for you Rain" he said with a sad smile and she returned it. the three of they chuckled as they al stared at each other. it started to get brighter and brighter.

"Do you think it'll hurt?" Rain asked in wonder, as she started off into the light

"I don't kno-" but the bright light cut him off but suddenly the light disappeared and they looked around and they were still in the same place

Damon and Bonnie looked down at their hands then back up "well that got awkward fast" he said letting go off hands with Rain and Bonnie did the same

"what happened? where is everybody?" Bonnie asked as she looked around but Rain or Damon didn't get a chance to answer as she started to walk back into the forest

"where you going?" Damon asked as Rain just stood there awkwardly "Hey" Damon said as he didn't get an answer, then the two started to follow her

they were walking across the empty streets of Mystic Falls as Damon was touching his teeth "well, I feel a fang. I'm still a vampire" Damon said "Either I'm a dead vampire or Mystic Falls is no longer magic-free" but no one commented on what he said as Bonnie started to speak

"Look" she said staring at the Mystic Grill, Damon looked at it confused as he blew that up not to long ago while Rain rose an eyebrow confused on what they were going on about

"what's wrong?" Rain asked

"I definitely blew that up about an hour ago" Damon said casually and Rain's eyes go wide

"what!" Rain said but was ignored

"why don't we see any people?" Bonnie asked "If we're still on the Other Side, we should at least be able to see the living" she said confused

"my brain hurts" Rain said rubbing her temples

"where the hell are we?" Damon asked and Rain was about to answer but Damon cut her off "and i don't mean geographically"

"i have not idea" Bonnie said looking around while Rain huffed and they look at her as she put a hand to her stomach and looked at them innocently

"I'm hungry"
