Closer to heaven

Chapter three

Rain was walking around the empty streets of France, she had always wanted to come here and see the Eiffel Tower it fascinated her so much and now since she was basically alone she could do anything

it had been a month and a half since she had left Damon and Bonnie, she missed them alt but she also like being alone. Something about feeling alone and being able to do anything without having to make sure everyone else was okay first, excited her

she was now sitting on a beach watching as the waves splashed at her feet as the blazing sun gleamed on her soft olive skin.

she hummed, and looked around as she felt this uneasy feeling and she looked to her right and she saw a figure walking towards her. she stood up but never left the spot, letting the figure come closer and closer

"hello?" she shouted out and it stopped like it was in shock, it now stayed still and they were just staring at each other and then Rain started getting annoyed and walked closer and as she did the figure started to also walk towards her

it was a male he had a boyish face, slightly messy brown hair, tanned skin and captivating grey eyes, a smirk slowly grew on his face as he looked at the girl in front of him he new that maybe now he was able to get out of this hell

"hello" he said and his voice brought butterfly's to Rains stomach "who are you?" he said looking her up and down

"i- uh, I'm Rain Specter" she said with a smile and she held her hand out for him to shake

"Malachai Parker" he said shaking her hand and it started to glow a bright red, orange and Rain pulled her hand back in pain and winched "are you supernatural?" Malachai asked

"no, no I'm not i didn't even know that the supernatural was real until a month and a half ago" Rain said "what happened with our hands?" she asked confused

"I'm a siphoner" he said and Rain screwed her eyebrows together

"a what?" she asked and he sighed

"its well, when i siphon supernatural beings or magical object i get magic but it drains them, I'm just like a witch though just a bit different, do you know what a witch is?" he asked and Rain nodded

"that's super cool" Rain said with a smile and he looks at her confused "what's with the face?" she asked

"well no ones ever actually said that about me before" he laughed sadly and a frown found Rain's face and she put her arms around Malachai shocking him "what are you doing?" he asked

"giving you a hug" Rain said pulling out it a bit "have you never had a hug before?" she asked in disbelief

"well considering I've been trapped here for about eighteen years and, my family thought i was an abomination, i would say no" Malachai said passive-aggressively

"well, i promise whenever you need one, I'm always available" Rain said with a smile and he just snarled her and she gave him a confused look

"why are you being so nice to me" he said a snarl still on his face "I'm a monster, you don't even know anything about me" he said trying to drive her away

"Because your being nice to me so I'm just returning the favour" she said and he just furrowed his eyebrows "and plus even the devil needs a friend, right?" she said with a smile trying to lighten him up

"a friend?" he asked

"yeah, why not? do you not want to be?" she asked, sadness starting to take over her

"no, no, i do its just, i guess I've never really had a friend before" he said and they sat down on the beach

"well now you do" Rain said leaning her head on his shoulder and he hummed "so how did you get here?" she asked staring at the waves

"i killed my brothers and sisters" he said casually and Rains head lifted up and started at him wide eye's

"what!" she said loudly in fear

"no, no its just that I'm the only one in my family who is a siphoner and my family didn't want me to be the leader of the Gemini Coven and the ritual in my family is that a set of twins on their 22nd birthday merge and whoever wins stays alive" he said taking a breath

"so your parents wanted you to kill your twin?" Rain asked and Malachai nodded "but what does that have to do with your other siblings?" she asked knowing that he deflected the question

"i didn't want to kill them all it's just that the reason i had so many of them was because my dad didn't want me to lead the coven knowing i was stronger than Jo, my sister, and after a few years they had another set of twins and i just go so angry i wanted them dead because i knew that i could lead the coven" a tear slid down his cheek, this was the first time in 18 years he had cried over it

"hey, hey its okay, you have me now" Rain said giving him a hug and he hugged back. After a couple minutes they pulled away and started talking again

"so how did you get here?" he asked "you don't seem evil enough to get your self here"

Rain chuckled "i have only been here for about a month and a half and i have only know about the supernatural for that time, my friends knew about it for a couple years and some how i did and went to the 'Other Side', its a dimension for supernatural beings who have died" and Malachai nodded making her carry on "well my friend Bonnie is the anchor for it and her grams made a deal for her to make peace and this bright light happened and our other friend Damon was also there and because i was holding their hands we got brought with her" Rain finished taking a deep breath

"wait Bonnie" he said and Rain looked at him confused and nodded slowly "is she a Bennet?" he asked hopeful

"yeah, how do you know?" Rain asked and he stood up, pulling her with him. Malachai didn't answer as he ran across the beach to get to his car and Rain followed "Kai?" she said and he stopped and looked at her "sorry i like giving nick names to people" she said

"its fine, its just that my family only called me that but you can too" he said with a smile and she beamed at him and they got into the car "where are your friends?" he asked starting the car up

"Mystic Falls, why?" she asked

"Because we're gonna get out of this prison world, she's a Bennet witch" he said with an excited smile speeding down the empty roads of France

"no, she cant do magic" Rain said making him stop the car and look at her

"what?" he gritted through his teeth

"well the last time i saw her she couldn't do it" Rain said nervously

"well we're just gonna force the magic out of her" he said and starting driving again, Rain was about to say something but stopped herself and just nodded

"where the hell is Rain we haven't seen her for over a month" Damon said to Bonnie who was sad about her friend still missing

"i don't know Damon, how about we go look for her" Bonnie suggested but Damon shook his head

"where would we start? and what if she comes back here looking for us and we're gone" he said and Bonnie nodded understanding his logic

"i guess, anyway, want a game of chess?" Bonnie asked and Damon nodded sitting opposite Bonnie

"she's still missing?" Tyler asked Caroline and she nodded, they were walking around campus "what if she's supernatural?" Tyler said and Caroline laughed

"she doesn't even know about the supernatural, how could she be apart of it" Caroline said and he nodded

"i guess, but i miss her, she was the one who helped me get over my dad and my mom's death" Tyler said sadly

"me to" Caroline said sighing "but some how i know we will see her again, i mean if anyone's going to go missing for a moth and a half and come back fine, it's Rain" Caroline said with a small smile

"thank you Rain" Kai said looking to the sleeping girl "for helping me get home"
