Chapter four

"Kai!" Rain shouted as she was sitting on a hotel bed, Rain had convinced Kai to wait about a month before going to see Bonnie and Damon because she wanted to see more stuff

"what is it?" he huffed, coming out of the hotel, he had a lose towel wrapped around him and his hair wet, dripping down his face. Rain didn't answer as she just stared at him, a small smirk grew on his face "you like what you see?" he said and she snapped out of her trance

"n-no of course not" she said flustered and he made a 'mmhm' noise "I'm hungry" she said with a pout

"your always hungry" he said grabbing a shirt and jeans

"hey, we have only know each other for two weeks, there is more to me than food" Rain said crossing her arms over and Kai chuckled

"then show me" he said walking back in to the bathroom and got changed once he walked out he grabbed the key for the hotel door and opened it "you coming?" he asked and Rain bounced of the bed and quickly ran out the door

"catch me if you can" she said laughing as she ran down the hallways

Kai laughed as he ran after her, she ran into the lift and just manged to get away from him and gave him a smirk just as it closed. Kai looked at the numbers at the top to see the numbers, which were going down. He ran down the stairs, once he got down he saw Rain sitting at the front desk with a huge smirk

"took you long enough" she said jumping down and then grabbing his hand and dragging him out of the hotel "lets go get some food"

"yes, how bout some pork rinds?"

"Damon you are insufferable" Bonnie gritted through her teeth, he had made some dumb joke about Jeremy which pissed her off

"why, thank you" he said with his signature smile

"god, its time's like this when i really miss Rain" Bonnie said sitting down on the Gilbert porch swing "we haven't seen her in about two months and a half"

"yeah" Damon said agreeing "me to" he said, Rain was the first person to accept him as a friend when he first got back to Mystic Falls, even though she didn't know what he was, she was his go to comfort

"Kai i don't feel comfortable watching my friends anymore it weird" Rain said annoyed, he had changed a lot the past couple week they had got to Mystic Falls

"don't worry sweetie, we wont anymore. just come back here in about 5-10 minutes, hmm?" Kai said moving a piece of hair out of her face and she nodded walking away from the supermarket they were standing outside off

about 10 minutes had passed and Rain had started walking back "you want to know the reason why I'm following you is because-" Kai said tilting his head "i want to kill you"

Damon then spat out the bourbon he was drinking and fell to the floor coughing "vervain in your bourbon, who didn't see that one coming?" Kai said smugly "who buys patio furniture at a grocery store" Kai said grabbing one of the umbrella sticks and snapping it "i mean, somebody must otherwise it wouldn't be here, but" he said looking at Damon, who had blood dripping down his face "Now, I'm a little unfamiliar with vampires" he said throwing the other piece off wood away "But from what I've gathered a stake in the heart should do it"

"Rain?" Bonnie said as she was standing outside the shop "is that really you?" she said with happiness and brought her into a hug "how did you know where we would be?" she asked

"i uh- long story but i think we should really get in there" Rain chuckled nervously, she had this bad feeling inside her

Bonnie gave her a confused look "why?"

"just lets go" Rain said, walking in and Bonnie followed, they heard Kai's voice and Damon in pain so they ran to go help him

"the useless one is here, thank god" Kai said sarcastically and then Rain walked into frame "oh, hey sweetie" he said with a smile and she returned it but then turned back into a frown as she looked back at Damon "I've watched you try to do magic for months now" He said with a smirk "what are you gonna do fail at me? it's embarrassing" Kai said and Bonnie just held her glared at him

"Kai what the hell?!" Rain said angry and confused on why he was being so mean but he didn't pay any attention to her, and that made her feel small like she did when it was just her, Bonnie and Damon

"I'm embarrassed for you" Kai said with fake pity to Bonnie and as Kai was going to stake Damon she looked at the candle and it lit up and a smile of relief grew on Bonnie's face "uh oh" Kai said scared

"run" Bonnie said to Damon and he did, he also on his way grabbed Rain

"no! no!" Rain said as Damon kept his hands around her waist "let me go" Rain kept hitting his arm

"shhh" Damon compelled and she calmed down and then they both walked back to there and Damon picked up the other piece of wood Kai had snapped and thrown and hit him with it "I'm sorry i called you the most annoying person in the world. i hadn't met him yet" Damon said and they both smirked at each other while Rain had tears in her eye's

Bonnie and Damon had tied Kai up on a chair in the Salvatore living room and Rain was sitting on the couch watching not being able to say anything because Damon compelled her

after about 5 minutes Kai started groaning catching all of their attention, Damon was standing in from of the fire place holding a poker stick and a packet of pork rinds "your awake. good" Damon said "now for the Q and A portion of the evening"

"let me guess i answer right, i get a pork rind. Wrong, i get a poker" Kai said bored

"what? No, no, no these are for me" Damon said looking at the packet of Pork rinds in his hand and then putting them behind his back "you just get the poker" He said pointing it at his chest

"yeah, you don't have to do that" Kai said no fear coming off of him

"no?" Damon questioned

"we're on the same team" Kai said smiling up at him then taking a quick glance a Rain who was in a trance staring at the fire

"Really?" Bonnie scoffed "do you always try and kill your teammates?" Bonnie asked calling his bluff

"the important thing is that you have your magic back. it worked" Kai said with an innocent look and Damon and Bonnie shared a look "what you-? you didn't really thin I'd kill Damon, did you?" Kai asked offended "heh. in what universe does that make sense?" he said laughing "i wouldn't kill one quarter of our population. I'm not a monster" he said taking another quick look at Rain and then a deep breath

"i knew Bonnie would show up. she always comes back, all thirteen times" Bonnie and Damon once again shared an uncomfortable look "and i knew with the right motivation she'd be able to access her magic. Although, heh, i did get a little worried with all your bickering that Damon's life wouldn't be enough motivation but, as Rain said to me, turns out it was" and they both turned back to the girl "i guess that's how you two show your love" he said with a teasing, mischievous smirk

Bonnie scoffed, raising her eyebrows "so you did all that just to make sure I'd have my magic?" she asked

"of course i did because you magic is the key to getting us the hell out of here" he said staring at the two with an evil glint in his eye. Rain stood up and un-tied Kai from his ropes "thankyou, sweetie" Kai said with a smile and she didn't say anything but walked away and up stairs

"how do you two know each other?" Bonnie asked

"we met in France, on a beach, it was lovely" Kai said smiling and then standing up and rubbing his wrists "now, if you will excuse me, i have a lot of apologising to do" he said leaving Bonnie and Damon in the living room, and following where Rain went

"is it just me" Damon started "or does he have some sort of crush on her?"

"nope, and I'm pretty sure she has one on him but its small" Bonnie said in slight shock
